Yet the Igbos would be leaking Ijaw people's arse morning and night - attache by force. Asari was actually right. Benin and Itsekiri people also had Igbo slaves. Reno spoke about this topic 2 years ago. 7 Likes |

Ezeama400:Brutality? From who? It is factual what he said The Ibos were sold as slaves by Kalabari for decades if not centuries Not only them,The other Ijaw groups ,Itsekiri Ikwerre Efik and Ibibio all sold Ibos Ibos became relevant after the slave trade when the numbers of unsold slaves ballooned and The Ibo population became a majority British gave power based on population If not British that brought democracy how could Ibos face Ijaw? They were not advanced beyond village level of umunna level. That is why Ikwerre resent being called Ibo because they were their slaves before Britain turned everything upside down 11 Likes |

chuksanambra:So he just came out of the blue and started insulting Ibos for no reason? People must learn to take responsibility. There is a cause for any effect. You say insult is too much..... Which group of people do the most insulting? This is a clear case of reaping what was sown. Ibos are not victims 9 Likes |

AntiMarxist:Arochukwu were not Ibo. They are ruled by elements from Akwa Cross. Aro Confedercy was never an Ibo project just like Sokoto Caliphate is not a Hausa project. In the same way Fulani sold Hausa speaking elements from across the Sahara 5 Likes 1 Share |

Gajagojo:Thank God you know, unlike yorubas population that had been depopulated by Benin who sold them to Portuguese, slave trade was new in Igboland before it was banned, that's why Igboland is the most densly populated. Also, coastal people formed middle men slave Marchant, they never had any military force to go into the hinterlands. All tribes from the interior brought slaves to the coast. Raskimonojendor:But these "facts" are noting to gloat about. Slave trade was legitimate business then, Igbos are even the least affected. everybody took slaves to the coast. It's not as if any of the coastal tribes went into the hinterlands to catch slaves by themselves |

Ogene001:Nothing wrong with a Yoruba publishing the first Igbo book. It's just fact and not a dick swinging contest. The first Yoruba grammar was published in 1843, also by Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther. If an Igbo speaks Yoruba well, we praise the Igbo man not the language. There is an Ibo man very popular in the SW that sings and even does incantations in the Yoruba language. The man is well celebrated. 3 Likes |

Raskimonojendor:So Ajayi crowther, a slave dumped in Freetown who joined British missionaries to work in Nigeria, wrote first book in both yoruba and Igbo, I'm sure he wrote in many other languages in the course of their missionary work, and you are chest beating over nothing? I was expecting you to tell me how Oyo and Ife wrote many yorubas books before colonization |
