Barbiturate:I swear bro. Someone rightly said 5k fuel now used to be 2k fuel before, still rightly said he used to gross 10k to 14k with 2k fuel then . How then did he say he grosses 20k to 24k with 5k fuel now? I don dey think the maths since...lol. 1 Like |

Itsrm: Surge comes with increase in demand. Demand is low generally on bolt, that's why you see pockets of surge in LASU axis, UniLag and Berger. Demand peaked in those areas |

Pearl1910:bro there is no significant change in price to measure up to the hike in petrol price. Let's be realistic. Not like the fares were doubled 1 Like |

Duplik8t77: Before the hike, I was doing 40-50k *on surge* with 5k fuel. Then, no one cared about these calculations and fuel consumption. 2 Likes |

Duplik8t77: The fare doesn't need to double...I tot we have analysed this already. If u can make 10-15k more than u used to do before then u are fine. The question we should asks is, can we easily make that difference now with the new price increase? It's difficult with Bolt because of their Commission and when there is no Bonus. But overall if u add 1k or 1,500 ontop on each trip, before d day ends u have gotten that fuel difference. 1 Like |

MrCarter577: Everyone knows this. What I'm saying is, the demand that will result in a 1.7 surge before now may have been tweaked by bolt to only result in a 1.3 surge. 1 Like |

Duplik8t77: Price was increased by roughly 50%. Every trip you do now is equivalent of a 1.5 surge trip before now. What this means is, if 4k fuel used to give you N20,000-N25,000, 10k fuel should now give you (20,000-25,000×1.5)= 30,000-37,500 |

I honestly don't understand how this thing appears so complicated. Before 30k daily was not guaranteed, now 40 to 50k is almost a certainty. 100k net I would make in 6 or 7 days before, I'm making in 4 days now. Yeah, fuel price has gone up but earnings have gone up to so I can afford now to buy 15k daily and still bank 25k. If you looking for even a 50% increase fares you're being very very unrealistic and even dreaming sef. It'll mess up the ecosystem and the app companies know this. 10 Likes |

XGhost:before 30k was guaranteed for me daily bro. Even 40k and I spend less on fuel. Now I can gross that same 30k or 40k in a day and spend almost 35% of that on fuel. My point is no matter how we paint it, the fuel thing has largely reduced our net earning. Who cares about grossing 50k when you are just left with about 20k after expenses knowing that it used to be 35k or more. That exactly is my point 7 Likes |

XGhost: 50% increase in fare is exactly what Bolt did. As for the bolded, the difference is that unlike before when you maybe bank 22k and only have to take 4k for fuel the next day and you're left with 18k, you now have to take 10k from the 25k you banked leaving you with 15k There's a net reduction in the drivers income but it's certainly not as bad as is sometimes being exaggerated. 1 Like |

Itsrm: Not correct, fare increase is not upto 50%. A trip that was 3k before is now 4k but trip of 1,200 before is now 2k. It depends on the type of trips u r taking. Secondly, Any money u take to refuel is made back that day...u don't minus it from previous day's Net. So if I make 20k profit yesterday and I take 15k out of it to buy fuel for today's work, I will make 50k today and replace my fuel money then minus commission and I am left with 20k profit for today again. So in two days I have 40k in bank or cash. I think most drivers don't want to adjust to d new reality. I understand when someone says why will he use 15k fuel to make just 50k. People want to make much more with the plenty money they used in buying fuel, but forgetting that if the prices are increased in such a way that they want, they will drink the fuel in d car because they will have no trips. 2 Likes |

Duplik8t77: Ok... This may open up a whole new conversation because as far as they have been saying here before the fuel price hike, na doomsday, the biz don cast and all that shit. Here you are now saying it used to be 35k net before. Point is, that your 35k is now almost guaranteed unlike before when you made that on and off. Like i said before, the earnings haven't changed or have gone up marginally. |

Pearl1910: My house to waterlines used to be 1200 on bolt, it's now 1800. I was under the impression that it's a general 50% increase across all prices. Any money you take to refuel from the previous day net should be removed and the reason is because the initial money you used to buy your first fuel did not fall from heaven. You will always have a deficit of that initial cost of fuel. I'm also struggling to understand your analogy. If you make 20k profit, buy fuel of 15k and you're left with 5k in the bank. The 15k gives you 50k, you pay Bolt 10k, buy another 15k fuel to be used tomorrow, you're left with 25k plus your 5k of yesterday which is 30k. That is what you have in the bank. Your analogy only works when you stop driving. As long as you have to drive the next day, the only money you can realistically save is what you're left with when you remove the cost of fueling for the next day. That's my understanding 2 Likes 1 Share |
