How do u expect the person being owed 7 months salary arrears to survive ? Even if Benue is the food basket of the nation and almost everyone is a farmer that most likely grows what they eat, what happens to their other needs that can’t be met with subsistence farming ?

The funny thing is Ortom and his appointees , members of state house of assembly and even state judiciary are most likely not being owed any salary …… But it’s the common man like civil servants that make sacrifices and need to understand things are hard .That was how Aregbe was paying workers fragmented salaries while his guys were getting contracts to build infrastructures (which he’s most likely to get kickbacks from )

Lawmakers actually need many aides because there are hundreds of laws being legislated on which the average lawmaker has no clue about. That goes for any country.

Imagine a carpenter, a businessman or a doctor ends up as lawmaker. What does he know about the tens of thousands of laws in the country, and who will sit to write those long tings they write in legal language. Section this, clause that. And they need a wide range of subject matter experts . I can't speak for Abbass personally and whether he is using them diligently or meritoriously, but a speaker of the house suppose know and be able to understand, interprete and rewrite every law that comes across his table. It takes aides to do that
