So they slashed De Gea's wages for the new contract, and after he'd agreed and signed it, they proposed a new contract with even lower wages.

Even if the manager doesn't want him as number 1, that's no proper way to treat anybody, talkless of someone like De Gea. It's immature and dehumanizing.

This decision came late jare. If ETH really wanted DDG out, he should’ve communicated it since and they shouldn’t have offered him any contract renewal in the first place.

We can’t have DDG on +200k per week (his rumored slashed wages) and then keep him on the bench as a no 2. It’s not done that way.

Ellexy, the proper way to do this would’ve been to start enquiring about Onana and co by April.

Heck, we could’ve gotten Bart Verbruggen if worst came to the worst. We could then renew DDG for one year and slowly ease Verbruggen in during the whole of next season.

The lad is on his way to either Burnley or Brighton now. And guess what? The managers of those two teams play out from the back extensively.

The way we’ve gone about the whole thing is just so so messy and smacks of incompetency.
