My neighbor parked his car for over a week because he was planning to travel during the festive period. He had to save cost so he could travel comfortably. I myself have kept using my car because it is fuel efficient and my work doesn’t allow me do much movements aside from home to office and back. I calculate my movements very well. I postponed a journey early this month when i calculated and saw I would need about 80k just to fuel my car to & fro. It wasn’t worth it. One has to just use finances deliberately judiciously. 2 Likes |

The elephant in the room which no one wants to talk about is religion. How come this country is so religious with our elites of all faiths going on expensive and extravagant pilgrimages to pray for a country that they are tearing apart through corrupt practices but cannot build functional boreholes that will ease the sufferings of fellow citizens at home? 4 Likes 1 Share |

youngrichnigga: The politicians have successfully distabilize the labour unions by turning it into tribal unions. Our unions are now dead to the merit of the political class. We are headed for doom except we throw out religious and ethnic sentiments to vote for people that really intend and know how to make things easy for the common man. 2 Likes |

I keep saying it. There will be massive protest soon across the country. Everything will shut down. No one will commit suicide again because of hardship, they will rather fight to live. Srilanka comes to mind. Aso Rock is not untouchable. 1 Like |

youngrichnigga: Apparently, and if the media is correct, they used exchange rate of around 650/$ to calculate the new pump price, instead of the erstwhile 460/$. They were hoping to make good profit and get ahead of the devaluation. Unfortunately for them, the rate fell to 770/$ after the devaluation. Now they have to raise the price again to around N600-650/l. Starting from the new stock that'll be imported from next month. It might be a gradual increase tho'. It was 511 here immediately after the removal. It is 535 now. They'd slowly boil the populace like frogs to avoid a revolt. One day you go to the gas station, and you'd stare at 640. Anyway, the positive impact on consumption rates has been immediate. Consumption rates fell from 68 million liters per day to around 40 million liters per day. That 25 million or so liters is the surplus smuggled out of the country per day. The minimum wage and salaries across the board have to go up by at least 50% to match the prevailing economic state of affairs. -Lord 4 Likes |
