Happy sunday nairalanders.
I moved to a new area(Student area) and decided to attend a nearby church.

These are what I noticed.

-- I was the only one that used scarf.Even the choristers and the female ministers didn't use scarf.

--Almost all the female members are putting on trousers, ladies that put on gowns/skirt are not up to 20%.
I was even surprised that the two female ministers and the female choristers also put on trouser to climb the church alter.

--During prayer intersection,I noticed everybody were praying in tongues and it seems am the only person not filled with the holy spirit to speak in tongues.
Even when we were asked to pray on our offering, people still prayed in tongues.

And it just seems I'm odd among them or is it that am not modernized?

I think trouser is even better... The kind of big nyash I see in mini skirts and gowns cannot allow me concentrate

I think that the reason why it's like this is because people don't study the bible. When you study the bible, everything becomes clear and nobody can deceive you. Preachers and Pastors are not encouraging their congregation to study the bible properly. Every time in church the preachers would say open to the book of That verse This to This, usually short texts and they read that particular text and the preacher starts to preach from that verse.... Many times what the preacher is preaching is not what that verse is talking about, but because nobody bothers to read the preceding verses and the following verses and sometimes the whole chapter to understand the full scope of what the verses are talking about, they get easily misled and confused and lost.

Exactly, "Context". Most people always miss that. How can u open a novel then jump to the 7th chapter, read a line and deduce meaning about the book just from that line. You need the whole context to form an opinion or have an understanding. That's why you see most mislead by the media, they read just the headline of a story or article without reading the article itself and then they'll come to a conclusion. You watch a 1 min clip out of a 10 min video and come to a conclusion. Your conclusion would be wrong, same thing applies to the bible like u said. You dont just read a verse, u need to understand the context of the verse as it pertains to that chapter and the chapter to the book as well to paint the whole picture, sometimes even referencing other books and chapters. And most people dont like reading so that's why they rely on others and are unfortunately gullible.

Who is going to build the factories and research centers when majority only believe in prayers?

Remember i am emphasizing the word "majority".

For there to be a change, majority has to be re-informed and dissuaded from the way they think.

Those who are supposed to build the factories, research centers and bring about innovation and invention are in the churches and mosques praying.

Again, u fail to point ur blame to the right direction. Who will build the factories and research centres?? Really, who? Who should provide the enabling envt for enterprise to thrive? Who?

Majority u say are in religious centres. 7 days a week?? How often? They might as well be in a bar or recreational centres having fun, would u blame the recreational centres then?

Every body is at liberty to be wherever they like. You are also at liberty to go build the factories and research centres if u believe the people in the mosques on Fridays or churches on Sundays should do it.

You shouldn’t feel odd.

- that they majorly wore trousers don’t make the less of God’s children as well as you, and that they’re characterized with wearing skirts (or iro), don’t make them true Christians at heart. God sees every heart and intent and know who serves and loves Him.
- same with scarf. It’s a doctrinal topic. In CAC, MFM and their likes, men don’t cover their head in church or prayers. Whereas in bible times, they did, to pray, even still done in Israel today. You find skull caps and mitres on priests of episcopal rank in orthodox settings. So, it’s a doctrinal practice and not an element of your faith in, love for, and worship of Jesus Christ as LORD.
- Speaking in tongues is a gift given as a token oft evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. It’s a New Testament substance. We had prophets of old and fathers in faith who lived in Old Testament times carry God’s Spirit (e.g Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, David, even Joseph), but not with the evidence of speaking in tongues because it wasn’t a thing of their dispensation. All you need to do is ask God to give you that gift ‘cos the advantage is massive. Caveat: That one speaks in tongues doesn’t make the person a true Christian. Cain and Abel both offered sacrifices (in this case, speaking in tongues) but He refused Cain’s (just as He hears not the the one who regards iniquity in his/her heart).

I hope this helps.
where in the Bible did men pray with their heads covered? Why did Paul who was so versatile with the law advise the Corinthian church to have the men's head covered while praying?? Read 1st Corinthians 11 thoroughly.

Just in my last response alone, I mentioned the event to you at Genesis 3:20. I also showed you the idea that is in Deuteronomy 22:5 and 1 Corinthians 6:20 (“glorify God in your body”).
And when I quoted that “there are clouds of witnesses around us” I was almost quoting directly Hebrew 12:1.

My friend, your argument and response hasn’t evidently shown that you are being guided by the Bible. This mean you are most likely not a Christian... maybe only Christian in name.

To rest this it might be that you are in the wrong place and reacting to the wrong issue. This issue is for Christians and people that are ready to accept in FULL bibles regulations and definitions.

The judge has spoken. The man that invented Christianometer has spoken.

This sh!t you feel is your strength is rather your fall. I see your type everyday. Holier than thou yet knows nothing.

Moralists like yourself often try to refer to themselves in a way that places the rest in a bad light. But Moralists like yourself are often devoid of what makes a Christian, a true Christian- Genuine Christian love.

OP,

You are analysing the case from your ethnic culture. Christians in churches in East Asia don't cover their hair. They wear trousers and put on makeup. According to you, would they go to hell fire? shocked
that's where the conscience comes in. The conscience is the candle of the Lord. Anything not done with faith is sin. Some groomed their female kids with trousers in Nigeria here and wearing of trousers by the female in civilized countries is not view as anything significant. Now these girls grow up feeling so comfortable in these clothings and because of their culture and conscience they have no sin recorded for them by putting on a decent trousers but a girl who grew up with the notion that trousers is not for the female folks will never feel comfortable in trousers and when their conscience blames them it becomes sin for them. All these I just said is found in the scriptures. So who doesn't wear shouldn't judge her who wears.

So? How does this verse links to your argument?

I also showed you the idea that is in Deuteronomy 22:5

Are the girls wearing male trousers? Are girls' trousers made for men? The verse is very clear. Anyone can differentiate between a male and female trouser. So, what's your argument?

and 1 Corinthians 6:20 (“glorify God in your body”).

Oh! Does it mean wearing trouser can't allow one to glorify God again? Make me understand, please.

And when I quoted that “there are clouds of witnesses around us” I was almost quoting directly Hebrew 12:1.

So? By cloud of witnesses, what do you think the verse is referring to?

By the way, the verse 2 says, looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

It never said, looking unto your neighbor or someone beside you that may cause you to derail. It said, looking unto Jesus. Bro, learn to look unto Jesus for all you do. Let Jesus alone be your judge. Stop behaving like you are God assistant and passing judgment as you wish when you don't fully understand what you are saying.

It may be my last response to you on this issue today. I adjudge that you just like argument and you don’t really know or understand Bible position on things. Further correspondence with you might just be like one punching the air especially as you are want of casting aspersions.
I have had several correspondence with you and I made myself clear. I am not a Christianometer but I have one and it’s the Bible which I have used profusely.
I have dealt on your number one point in one of the correspondence. And I told you the Bible have nothing against the trousers so far it is easily recognizable as 1, belonging to the sex wearing it. Trousers or skirt is not set in stone as to belong to a particular sex. However like I pointed out to you, like in the dressing of those Bible times that looked generally like skirt but people are still able to differentiate which is for who so also a guy for example should not wear a girls trousers and a girls must not wear a guys trousers. One can imagine that God in is wisdom and foresight made this rule to safeguard against the culture of homosexuality. In that culture you see guys that want to pretend as ladies and ladies that want to pretend they are guys because they are in a sexual relationship with another lady.
And trouser wearing for both girls and boys must follow the eden standard by covering. Not one that shows the lining of your buttocks or your penis bulge. Or wear trousers you sag that shows your boxers in a way that do not glorify God. All these ideas are gotten from the Bible.
Lastly a trouser and other clothing must glorify God. Now this will deal with the ‘b’ point you highlighted; because there are clouds of witnesses around us, you must not conduct yourself or clothe yourself in a way that people will look at you and ask whose child is this. In a way that people will look at you and automatically associate you with some bad groups.
Now Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith and we look to him through the pages of the Bible. SIMPLE
You are searching the Scripturesh because you think that you will have everlasting life by means of them; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me. John 5:39; Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6; This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. John 17:3.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

By the way, the verse 2 says, looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
