The first wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, May has reportedly initiated divorce proceedings against him.

According to reports, May and her legal representative visited a court on July 10 to file a petition for the dissolution of their 18-year marriage.

It is however, said that Yul has been evading being served the necessary documents.

The primary cause of conflict between the couple stems from Yul's decision to marry actress Judy Austin as his second wife.

In April 2022, Yul publicly announced the birth of his son with Judy and their subsequent marriage.

May has consistently expressed her disapproval of Yul's union with Judy, stating that her marriage was once stable and loving prior to these unprecedented events.

She firmly believes that polygamy is a personal choice, and while she acknowledges that certain religions and traditions permit it, she refuses to be coerced into accepting a practice that contradicts her own faith and family values, Read HERE

Recall that in recent times, Yul has faced significant backlash on social media for what some perceive as his hasty rebound following the sudden loss of his first son with May, Kambilichukwu, who passed away in March.

Critics argue that the frequent sharing of videos featuring Yul and Judy spending time together suggests that he has moved on too quickly.

They believe he has not adequately mourned the loss of his son to warrant such "happy videos" of himself and Judy being posted online.

May God guide her and be with her. It's so sad seeing a man you labored with for a whole 18yrs to suddenly turn around and spit on your face and as if that's not enough she lost a son and he didn't mourn but rather doing skit with the other woman all over social media. May we never marry our enemy as spouse and may we never date and marry nonsense. Study people well before letting them into your life and if you sense anything fishy then free them and look elsewhere. May was a very good woman to him but she married her enemy who is a narcissist and a self-centered very wicked man. Same man told us few years back that his wife is a very good woman who has never frustrated him even when he had no sustainable income

Let her go if she wants, she will either go and be a second wife elsewhere or stay single for the rest of her life.
