Damn, starlink is performing wonders. Starlink is expensive and is beyond the league of the common man. Streaming, do you mean watching videos.....

Yes, they do for the Broadband plan.

For iPhones, Apple, by default, doesn't support 5G networks. A carrier (MTN) has to ask Apple to include support for its own 5G network via software update. Apple has included support recently for MTN 5G via the Beta software program. So, if you have an iPhone 12, 13, 14, opt into the beta program, and download and install the lastest beta. Thereafter, you should be getting the 5G network. In the future, regular iPhone updates will continue to support MTN 5G.

For Samsung, it's the same for some of their devices, especially flagships. However, unlike Apple, Samsung is yet to officially push support for MTN 5G. So, you may find that MTN 5G works on Samsung devices and not others, even though they are same model, but different variant.

I guess mtn stopped the 100% bonus on yearly plans last year with the 4G routers. I got the same bonus too on my hynetflex router but with the new 5G router SIMs, yearly plans are not eligible for double data. To me the main bonus they now give is 100GB for new device and 100GB for each of the first two subscriptions above 100GB

There is no special SIM card. Any 4G compliant SIM will receive 5G signals on phone or modem.

No, you won't. Visit MTN service centre to resolve the issue.

in February 2023 I got 5g network in abuja and the speed was fast, but now I can't access 5g network even when am in 5g zone. I don't know if it was when I updated the phone I lost access to 5g? Please any assistance will be welcome, it's u.s variant.

Exactly my own situation, I use s22ultra SM-908U1, the last time I accessed 5G network was in feburary 2023, since then it has been 4g even in an 5g zone, please is there any update concerning this issue?

I am curious, have you tried flashing a firmware from a different region? Firmwares can be gotten from Sammobile or XDA.

I use the SM-908U1, and am having this issue, my 5G network worked last in feburary 2023, please how can this be resolved.

Again, please if you have any of the above Samsung S22 ultra variants and you are receiving MTN 5G, kindly state your variant.
Note that this will help in resolving the challenges of some Samsung devices not getting the 5G network.

You need a 5G MiFi that supports band N78 to access MTN 5G, and I don't think there is a 5G MiFi in the Nigerian market at the moment. However, if you can get a universal MiFi that supports 5G band N78, then yes, it will work.
By the way, 5G MiFis are very expensive.

Doubt it. Its like being given a data limit of 1TB monthly...or 33GB daily.

Nope. Their website order doesn't work. There is nowhere to pay.

Better find MTN partners and get the box. The website will put an 80k price; you'll spend 85k to 95k Naira buying it. You need to go there physically because you must register the SIM card that comes with the router.
