Do universities admit more than once in a year? Even the once a year, due to strikes, etc there is still some constraints such that some schools have double year 1. |

It's a good move. There should be away a student should be able to use his/her resume for 3years naw ... It will be better if government can establish another institution like jamb so that there will be a competition for jamb just like WAEC and NECO...The errar of dominance or Monopoly of this Jamb should stop..they should stop extortion of the masses.. |

Good move by the HOR. It will reduce the number of "returnee" UTME takers and saves families time and money. I just hope JAMB will adopt it though, especially with the government of the day being out to make as much money as possible. |

Candidates will naturally still wish to take the exam every year. Imagine a situation that your current score couldn't fetch you admission, wouldn't you like to attempt the exam the following year with the hope that you might do better in your performance? 1 Like |

Rashduct4luv:Well in the US the SATs their own standard exam is conducted 7 times a year as opposed to JAMB being once here. The SATs involve only maths and English. SATs are way more relaxed than Nigerian JAMB yet their educational system is way better than ours so I don't know what disadvantage you're expecting that isn't here already. One thing about making decisions is that you may not experience a perfect result but as long as the pros are more than cons it's okay so right now relaxing JAMB has way more benefits than any con 2 Likes |

Blitzking:I think if you understand the process very well...the fact you scored 205 or even 350 doesn't mean you can't take the exams if you wish too... It's a very welcome development because the more students stay at home, the more they are been affected by brain drain... My first jamb score then was 285, I applied for FUT Minna as my first choice, but after going there to write my Post UTME examination, I hated everything about the state and school setting, it's been over 12years but bro, till today I didn't know my score in that exam because I didn't even bothered to check the results... But the most funny thing was that i couldn't attain that score in my next jamb due to work and hustle I embarked on... So imagine if these policy was in voke then, students can use that one year to hustle hard while they apply for their choice university the next year with same score without thinking of going via the rigorous process of taking another jamb...At it stands now, gaining admission are taking some parents unawares... I will use my Alma mater (Unizik) as an example. Currently, parents will have to cough out roughly 400K including accomodation immediately there wards are admitted...I think this policy will ease off stress on parents to atleast prepare for what's ahead. Sorry...for the long epistle |
