Apologies. I changed my mind. I would rather not have private conversations for security reasons. I hope you understand. Please post your questions here. Thank you.[/quote
That’s fine.
Can you help me with list of the necessary document for the new application?

Visitor Visa alert

Biometric 15 June
Collection notification: 27 June

It is for my mum - first time application, fully funded. The only document from her was her passport. No statement from her. I am a student (Sept last year)

Documents submitted

1. Employment letter
2. 4 months pay slip
3. BRP (mine and spouse)
4. Passports (appplicant's, mine and spouse's)
5. Statements (mine and spouse only)
6. Spouse's HMRC return (He is self-employed)
7. Tickets to and fro (a step of faith)
8. Tenancy agreement
9. Letter of Invitation
10. A letter from my school to confirm my status and intention to invite my mum

Application was done by my hubby. It was after he submitted it I came across this thread. Info here created more fear in my heart. But we kept our fingers crossed.

What did you state as reason for inviting your mom? I am also planning on inviting my mom

You don't need to go with any document if you have uploaded them.

1. 6 months statement of account

2. If you are employed, Letter from your employer + all documents relating to your employment (6 months payslips, offer letter, promotion letters, salary increase letter, confirmation letter, ID card)

3. If you are self employed, CAC documents, 6 months statement of your business, evidence of what you do, tax clearance (if you have it, If not, don't worry) + 6 months statement of your personal account

4. If you are married, marriage certificate and data page of your spouse's passport

5. If you have children, their birth certificates and data page of their passports

6. If you have assets (e.g land, house), documents of the assets

7. If you have investments (e.g stock) , documents of the investments

I don't claim to be an expert. I'm employed and my husband is self employed. I listed what we have used for years.

Let me know if you need more clarification. Good luck!

Thanks for this.

She’s retired.

Her income is mostly from my self and sister.

You mentioned something about social group as home tie after I posted the refusal letter. Do you have a sample for that please ?

Her marriage certificate was issued by a mosque. Can that be used ?

I’m the sponsor for the trip.

If retired, please provide documents to prove that. If she is paid pension, provide documents to prove how much she is paid and when. The pension she is paid should reflect in her account statement.

Income received from her children should be consistent and will reflect in her account statement.

Social group may be in her Mosque. She can also belong to an old student association etc. Mention any of these if she is very active or has a leadership role - e.g President of Old student association.

Submit any document you have to prove her maritial status.

Does she do any petty business?

As her sponsor, provide 6 months statement of account, data page of your international passport and your birth certificate. You can add pictures (not compulsory)

If it makes you feel better, add a cover letter to explain everything in a very simple way - why she wants to travel, what she does and why you are sponsoring her.

Good day all,

I am in Nigeria with my wife and two kids. My wife is about getting a job in one of the African countries.

What kind of visa will be given to her?

What is the possibility of myself and the kids joining her?

Can we travel on the same day as she is afraid of going alone?

Am I permitted to work in the new country as well?

Please, tell me any other thing I need to know before she signs the appointment letter?

I think she should request a quick chat with the HR officer. If they can’t answer these questions easily, then there’s a problem

Also it should be clearly stated in the terms and conditions of the contract what applies to dependents in terms of work visa sponsorship/relocation costs etc otherwise they’re playing and she should not sign.

Happy to hear your mums VISA was approved.
So did you actually use - £1 for how much she planned to spend towards the trip ?

Secondly where they asked why sponsor is helping to pay for your visit, what did you fill in ?

Sorry I’ve been offline for a while now. Just seeing your messages. I didn’t use £1 for my mum. I used “1,500,000” as money she planned towards her trip, even though I was the one fully sponsoring her. Because I had already sent her “500,000” and described it on her bank statement as “part-payment for her flight ticket”.

For your second question, I used £4000 there as what I’ll be sponsoring her with.

No you don't , it's biometrics and submission of your passport that you are going for.

It's the people that paid for assisted service that will go with docs

I’m in the exact “same” situation and I am so upset about this to be honest. Same TLS Ikeja. I made a paid call and the agent said a decision was made 5 days agooo! No email from UKVI or TLS pickup e-mail but I also got a survey to rate UKVI’s services some days ago, probably just after they made the decision. I don’t even know what to do at this point.

Sigh.

Goodevening mam,
Contacted yet?

Visa alert 🚨

Applied 4th
Biometrics on the 7th
Transferred to DMC 7th (priority)
Got a mail from uk on the 10th (undergoing consideration)
Got 2 mails From VAC for collection on the 12th
Documents:
Was told to submit an invitation and my brothers proof of residence since he is the one inviting ( brother is a citizen).

2) my passport
3) POF.

That’s all oh.
But me I added my work reference letter and introduction, my leave letter , my utility bill, my CAC documents .
Just collected my visa stamped in my passport. What GOD cannot do , does not exist.
Exactly 7 days I submitted.

I believe if they say your Travel documents is ready for collection ( then it means they gave you the visa. (My thoughts anyway)

Calm down and stop involving God in a UK visa. This is not even supposed to be celebrated because it's no big deal

Your comment is unnecessary.

She's decided to ascribe the visa issuance to God, so let her be and express her faith. You can decide what to do with your own processes and outcomes. Can we just learn to be tolerant of others' views and beliefs?

I have a handful of American and British colleagues who barely require visa to travel around world and don't see anything spiritual in travelling but they still respect the disposition of those who feel otherwise.

Your perspective isn't everyone's reality. Just learn to honour others'.

It is a big deal . It may not be to you but don't disregard someone else's belief .
She can decide to involve God in her affairs if she chooses to.

Can a dependant(husband) use the statement of account of the sponsored migrant(wife) as proof of maintenance funds during visa application? (Wife is already in the UK). I’d like to be sure.

Thanks in anticipation of your response
