How does the high cost of fuel affects POS services?

Has bank increase withdrawal charges to enable post operators increased from their ends?

Or do we just take advantage of circumstances to extorts from people and enlarge our pockets??

Or are they using fuel to power the POS nii😳

Nigeria is probably the only country innovation is driven by exploitation and not making life easy.
The people in authority create situations they will explore to steal and make the masses suffer.
Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria…later that fugitive will cite this one as part of the registered organizations in the country.

Why do we have a POS industry in Nigerian Financial Framework?

I earn my money and use a bank (in line with govt regulations and rules).
These rules specify how much interest, charges and fees to withdraw my money.
These rules also govern and mandate the banks to make my money available to me, based on the fees and charges I have committed to.

So why are the banks not fulfilling their part of the contract, and exposing me to 3rd party people I have no contractual agreement with to give me access to my money.

These 3rd party people now charge me extra fees, which is not under any govt regulations, while the banks keep the initial fees after not providing the service.

Other issue is why cant the bank (primary custodian of cash) provide cash withdrawal services, but POS operators (who are not in the cash management framework of the country) able to source for cash and provide to people almost in every corner of Nigeria

What is the cost of an ATM machine compared to the POS Machine that the banks can't be the operators of these "POS Channels" directly. This will not have extra cost of charges to the common man needing cash for daily transaction?

I'm not a POS operator but things are getting expensive, transport fare and food is now expensive, many people have added price to their goods, what do you expect the POS Operators to do? How do you expect them to shoulder the inflation? They have to increase their price too.

Do not get it twisted. The cost of Maintenance,Paper Roll,Servicing the PoS terminal,Cost of fuel and other requisites stuff that warrant the increase of Service Charge. A lot of People are misquoting the aforementioned. What POS is increasing is the service Charge.

Cashless policy to our rescue. Since Emefiele saga, I have learned to use bank app. If you don't take bank transfer, you can't work for me. Use these banks some people tag as Chinese bank and enjoy free and better seamless transactions. Worker in the old banks are docile. Use Opay or Kuda and you will not regret. I am talking from experience.

Re: POS Operators Begin Implementation Of New Service Charge Monday by Onyipk: 9:41pm On Jul 15, 2023
How? Nigerians are not wicked.
It is simply a case of a FUEL DRIVEN ECONOMY.
Goods get to the market at a high cost and people go to work at a high cost. Thus, if nothing changes like fuel dropping in price, every sector of the Nigerian economy will be affected.
Come September, parents and guardians should expect increase in school fees accross board.
The only thing for every Nigerian now is to be prepared like the motto of the scouts.

Afterall, nobody (not even the POS operator) shows his/her id card and buys food items at a cheaper rate NOR do anyone show id card to enter public transport at a cheaper rate as well.

It is well.....Just be prepared...

Re: POS Operators Begin Implementation Of New Service Charge Monday by Onyipk: 10:01pm On Jul 15, 2023
This situation has nothing to do with Emefiele. It is simply about rising cost of goods and services.

It is funny when we blame others when we know exactly who to blame.

It is really a pity.
