May the new pos charges favour the bigots and sycophants that supported this INEC select.

Their joy will eventually turn to sorrow.

One thing is sure, their greediness will make them lose customers. Why won't I use the excess charges they will collect from me for transportation to the nearest ATM ? Nobody will tell them to crash the rate when they are not making reruns like before

They will start complaining of low patronage soon. Especially now that almost every trader has an account with the likes of Opay. We have various options for payment transactions. We can simply do a transfer, use POS where applicable or withdraw from ATMs.

I wish them well.

Do not get it twisted. The cost of Maintenance,Paper Roll,Servicing the PoS terminal,Cost of fuel and other requisites stuff that warrant the increase of Service Charge. A lot of People are misquoting the aforementioned. What POS is increasing is the service Charge.

Can you imagine?

Even when they were at the peak of their power during naira scarcity, l didn't patronize POS ( when two of my kid brothers are bank executives and senior lT/ software executive) also with ATM right in the estate where l work?

So, it is now that naira is abundant that l will pay for their exorbitant changes?

Once again, Dem dey ment

Even in the most capitalist of economies in the western world price fixing by groups of companies or association of same business concern is met with severe sanctions because it negates the whole ideal and principles of free market economy.
But here electricity distribution companies would fix uniform prices, motor unions at parks would fix prices,Cement manufacturers almost have same prices and this pos people have followed the same ignominious footstep.
Why would pos charge be same in Ikoyi and ajegunle or Ikorodu,Lekki or alimossho?

How does the high cost of fuel affects POS services?

Many if not most have to take transport to the banks to get cash on a daily or at least regular basis. So increasing their price is justified, but the idea of fixing uniform prices for Lagos State is just foolish.
Let each pos operator fix commission he/she feel is economically viable.

I'm not a POS operator but things are getting expensive, transport fare and food is now expensive, many people have added price to their goods, what do you expect the POS Operators to do? How do you expect them to shoulder the inflation? They have to increase their price too.

Nothing like this anywhere. That market is being determined by the forces of demand and supply.

However, things are getting expensive and it is only logical for the operators to increase their cost of service for business survival.

Price fixing is illegal in Nigeria, just giving a directive alone is enough for the government to have arrest the executives of this useless Pos association, there should be competing in price and services for a free economy to grow, Nigeria is not a socialist or communist country where price fixing is allowed, the promoters of this association should be arrested by EfCC for economic sabotage, if Pos business no pay u..try another business not to dey compel people.
