70bn naira to NASS is a perfect understanding of palliative.

35 bn naira to legislature is a perfect understanding of palliative.

100k to a poor miserable bastard means lack of understanding of palliative.

I agree with the clergy man. 8k palliative is not enough to cushion the ripple effect of the fuel subsidy removal.

The sharing formula will be greatly politicized, favoring mostly those that have the needed connections

The president should rather increase the minimum wage from the present 30k

Tinubu should be smarter than this now, Just increase minimum wage instead of some foolish palliatives.

So it's only govt workers that we have in Nigeria? Some workers in the state have not even received salaries for months and some are paid half salaries.

It will only skyrocket the inflation the more, leaving those that are not govt workers to further live in penury.

thank you. Many people don't know what is really going on. On the issue of minimum wage, the federal government ask that the organize labour should give them 8 weeks. And that 8 weeks will end on the 19 of August. But the federal government is not going to increase the minimum wage but also want to give pallaitive to other Nigeria that are not civil servants.

Don't mind him! Very wicked soul!

He has forgotten that the min wage was once ₦1000

So how did it go from ₦1,000 to ₦20,000 now? Is it not through series of successive increments?

Left for that Wicked soul minimum wage might probably still be ₦1000 in the face of flying sky-high inflation and relentless devaluation of naira.

It is obvious to anyone with a brain that the 8k is not the end but merely an interim measure and that minimum wage increase is coming. There is a committee set up with Labour to review the minimum wage. They have not submitted their report.

If Tinubu increases minimum wage to N100,000 today, a dollar will exchange for N5000 before the end of September.

Oga Primate should focus on his calling. The government may have shown signs of failure, but economic discussions aren't for everybody.

People just assume that salaries can be increased suddenly, such increment in government workers salary will have multiplier effects on the economy at large.

Two different things. The #8k is for the poor of the poor not on government payroll. Minimum wage are employees which are not up to 3% of the population

Abracadabra prophets every where looking for gullible people to devoid. Mr prophet u will go back to school to study economic, so that u will know that more money in the circulation will increase already hyper/ run away inflations that were plummeted this country as a result of economic and social maladministration by successive governments. Let government increase our purchasing power by stabilise the prices of services and commodities especially foods prices particularly the local produces by encourage farming massively with aid of northern techniques and adequate security for the farmers and Nigeria as a whole. And also, government should investment heavily in transportation in all spectrum of transport in order to cushioning the effect of removal of subsidy on petroleum. Asides, government should curtailing expenses on unessary jamborees ie the 70 billion naira for up keeping of our law makers, this is unacceptable. May God helps this country amin.

They should have done this gradually since 2015 so it will not be noticeable.

Now they are finding it difficult to do it in one fell swoop. They don't use their thinking faculties.
