I'm soooo not in support of the 8k stipend. That money will certainly be embezzled by some "Privileged Nigerians", and that includes some of our wealthy family members we look up to and love to think they make their money legally.

If the government is serious about alleviating the sufferings of the masses due to the removal of the subsidy, they should work on making food very accessible and cheap for consumption. When food is taken care of, aswear, people won't complain so much again.

Then they can do better by declaring a state of emergency on transportation. Roll out buses for mass transit at subsidized rates and watch how people return to throwing parties and showing little interest in what happens in government.

The causes of the inflation we are experiencing are multi-dimensional. A whole thread should be dedicated for that.
