I dont have a posture, the important thing for me, is to make sure i have no bitterness to anyone, to forgive freely because of Jesus and his Spirit, is to speak his word, and believe his word (for we need faith, and diligence, and God rewards those who diligently seek him) and call on his name.

Before praying we should not have any fight with anyone, and if we have anything weighing us down we should put it at the feet of the Lord.
And what the Spirit of God helped me to do, is to pray for the good of everyone even my enemies, because Christ shed his blood for everyone.

I can be sitting and can be standing, i can be running, i can be eating. We do not have to follow any specific way, because we have relationship with God, and we depend on God for everything and we should be lead by his Spirit, not by mans laws. However in Church within an assembly of people, i prefer and should act in order, and i do what I am told, like closing my eyes, or bowing down to Jesus name, so there is no disorder and everyone is focused. Also when i am with others, i pray in silence, standing if its required, bowing if its required, so others are encouraged and that there is order.

Missionary style

I feel more connected sitting and praying. Sitting straight up and not in a reclining position. It helps me focus and prevents distractions for me.

Even in church, after a while of standing to , I find myself sitting to continue praying

And my second position is lying face down.

So what is your best posture or position when praying?

When I am walking , when I am working , when I am exercising, when I am driving, while relaxing on my bed... even sometimes in the middle of a conversation with people- without interrupting the conversation. In short , as I am living my life, in Virtually any position.

But if I must pick only one position i will pick the lotus position, sitting on the floor, with my legs crossed, my hands open on my lap, eyes closed with my head tilted slightly upward.

This position makes me feel the Father-Son connection the most. Prayer is more about listening to God than spewing so many words. That's why Jesus says, do not be like the Pharisees who think they will be heard because of their many words. Ecclesiastes says: when you come to God, draw near to listen, rather than offer the sacrifices of fools.

But for many, prayer is mostly about asking and begging God to help them with something. And half of the time they are not even praying
To God but talking to devils
And demons, binding , casting , and sending to ends of the bottom less pit , never to return again. And the next day they repeat. That is not prayer.

No matter the position or posture, if u are bad and wicked, your prayers are just a joke

it's the posture that keeps the heart and mind in tune. For example the meditation posture relaxed the soul. Putting one forehead on the floor shows total humility. It reduces one's ego and pride. Kneeling shows one is seeking mercy/forgiveness. Raising both hands shows praise and salutations. Etc this are just my personal opinion. It like those Olympic athletes. They have ways which they carry their body which gives different results.
