You are only calculating from one side.

Do you know if that’s the only major source of sugar to his body?

Our bodies also need sugar. For lack of it can also be disastrous to our nervous systems.

Everything should be done in moderation.
The body does not need artificial sweeteners (sugar) made from petroleum products na .

Sucrose is the sugar that was used for years food companies have to invent artificial sugar to cut cost.

Nothing else.

There are also a lot of extracts of natural things our body doesn’t also need.

5 bottles of coke or Fanta in a month is not out of place.

Point here is moderation.

On the scale of banditry, nepa, kidnapping, nepotism, worrying about coke comes far down the list.

I only drink five bottles of either seven up or Pepsi in a month which is reasonably fair.
I don't take them at all, even though the quantity of aspartame in them is almost negligible

When you taste any coca-cola drink from neighbouring countries, you will know we're being killed here in Nigeria.

Here, water + anything goes.
When you drink coke some years ago you'd get this tingling sensation at the edge of your mandible but now it has totally disappeared.
I may not know what they're selling now but I know what it is not and it is not coke I swear 😏

I guess you didn't understand my POV. How does speaking in generic term transcend to my personal choices and personal preferences?

All the "zero sugar" soft drinks even taste awful because of the odd sweet taste, not even knowing they even have something more worse health wise.
Made a mistake taking one of those rubbish and since then anytime I have to take a drink always look at the cover to ensure its not zero rubbish.
Rather put 10 cubes of sugar in water and drink it than take a zero sugar.
For those diabetics that they advice to take these zero sugars or peoplr trying not to add weight taking it,these aspartame is even worse,so they should please desist from them.
I hate that taste as well. I rather drink the normal soft drink with all its sugar than diet drinks with sweeteners.

Five bottles of those soft drink is till on a high side my brother.
Multiply the five bottles a month by 12 months, then by 5yrs or even ten years.
How will your body reacts to the side effects in 25-20 yrs from now .
Think about it.
I don't think it is fair to judge like that, the body also needs a certain amount of sugar for energy daily,I think 20-25 grams or so per day and the average coke bottle will at least 12 grams,so even a bottle daily is not yet bad for an active individual, considering that fuel subsidy removal has made trekking a new hobby for many people,a chilled bottle of coke will be a welcome relive if you trek from Cadbury to omole estate.

You are even consuming a lot by my standard. But that's up to you. Better exercise is needed to waste a lot of these chemicals and substances
