I don't have any issues with her toughness and her being detailed to mark out the opponents biggest and best strikers. My concern is with her tendency to needlessly punt the ball up-field (as opposed to playing out of defense), something you acknowledged in your comment. Deltamani: |

Randy needs to avoid emotion when picking his team. Onumonu upfront is an experiment that failed during the AWCON. Judging from the friendly, she is likely to start against Canada. |

The history of football is replete with proven strikers who go through rough patches, but eventually come through when it matters. The likes of Yekini, Ighalo, and even the great Osimhen come to mind. Going further back in history, others like Paolo Rossi, Roberto Baggio, Pele and even Lionel Messi went through such with their national teams. It happens. The fact that Onumonu is going through this patch doesn't mean she is not good enough or she is a bad player. The WAFCON is past and we all need to look forward to the future. mostob: |

AkinDS:You're going offpoint. I'm talking about what happens on the pitch. Slow, poor first touch and bad positioning. Well, we shall see. |

FIFA has confirmed that referees at this month’s Women’s World Cup will announce their VAR decisions to fans at the stadium and television viewers using loudspeakers. The aim is to helps fans and viewers understand what is happening with referees announcing the play in question, the outcome and the reason why. Match officials have also been instructed to clamp down on time-wasting at the showpiece; meaning that time will be accurately tracked when substitutions are made, treatment of injured players, goal celebrations and VAR reviews should be added on at the end of each half.

AkinDS:Point of correction - Monday did not only become a starter towards the end of the season. She started far more games than you mentioned. I am particularly impressed with the way she fit into the Spanish League after moving straight from the NWFL. She's a special player who should not be underrated. However, I agree that Onumonu is much more experienced than her and may be chosen to start. |

AkinDS:I totally agree with you on this. I noticed this long before now |

With 4 days to the mundial, here are two features we would see at the World Cup: - The 3D offside technology, which was introduced at last year’s men’s World Cup, will be used to aid the referees to make even more accurate offside calls. -Also, for the first time ever, referees have been permitted by FIFA to explain their decisions, following a VAR review, to the fans in the stadium and TV viewers. |

The Queen of Anticipation, Faith Ikidi goal line clearance have been the best have seen in the SuperFalcons defense till date…. No Body Comes Close.! Who remember the one of 2016 WAFCON against South Africa in the Semifinals? Which of the Current Defenders will give us that vibe in Defenses at the World Cup?

I would have labeled Tony Payne as our Stella Mbachu as they’re both similar players in terms of Size and pace but Payne plays more as a Midfielder for the Falcons right now… Can Esther Okoronkwo delivers from the right Flank just as Stella Mbachu did against Canada in 2011.??

Brisbane Arrival : The SuperFalcons first activity after lunch was the players video/ photo shoot with the FIFA TV crew. A very tiring but exciting moments for the players & Coach expressing different feelings with the body movement in the makeshift studio in the Luxury hotel they’re domiciled in.

BascoVanVeli:When did so-called Tosin start playing for the Falcons of Nigeria? Tosin is a good-looking rookie and bound to commit rookie blunders. She is no way close to Plumptre in reading the game. |

Idiko1:Who has made more blunders for Nigeria, Tosin or Ashleigh? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 5:27pm On Jul 16, 2023 |
BascoVanVeli:I wasn’t expecting this kind of Question from you… Is it that you’re comparing Tosin with Ashleigh or What exactly… Blessing Demehin has more Blunders though excluding U20 own sef! |

And you know that for a fact, because…? Idiko1: |

Deltamani:What are u even going on about sef? I said what I said. Name the blunders that Tosin had for the Super Falcons? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 5:54pm On Jul 16, 2023 |
BascoVanVeli:The said argument is supposed to be fact based. Errors can easily tracked. How many duels won, how many tackles won etc. "I said what I said" isn't exactly an argument. |

Let’s see what the Oyibo guy and all the usual packaging will be all about… If you are a Oyibo looking to make money, come and coach some Blackies in Africa for a tournament and draw one match and lose “respectfully” the other two…. Negroes LOL |

lovewins:What argument did I respond to? It's like u just want to talk. The man said "I wasn’t expecting this kind of Question from you…" is that an argument? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mostob(m): 6:10pm On Jul 16, 2023 |
If na by blunder, I think Tosin made one in our recent friendly that almost resulted to a goal. |
