Nigerian mentality. I heard people in the UK prefer WhatsApp calls and in the US there's some level of preference for VOIP calls using iPhone.
It's the same mindset with babes sometimes where they think you're unserious because of WhatsApp calls.

Can you explain the bolded a bit more

I think Whatsapp call is the safest. Check well it end to end encryted. So all these recording and co will not happen on whatsapp.
I used to think whatsapp calls was not safe too.
Re: Is It Unprofessional To Use Whatsapp For Official/business Calls? by Greattha: 9:46am On Jul 18, 2023
Not at all.

Infact, it's safer as the end to end encryption prevents unwanted intrusions and recording.

Except another device is used to record.

It depends, most times if it's for official purpose I will ask if I can call you on WhatsApp after talking on normal calls but for friends we carry go.

At work we use CUG, whatsapp calls and normal line depending on the circumstances. I won't call my MD on WhatsApp.

So many primitive and archaic people in this part of the world

Voice over Internet calls or rather Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is what people use in communicating

And many people don't know that VoIP calls while cheap are also mostly very insecure

For me, first time callers should use Normal calls, while you schedule WhatsApp calls as time goes on

My first question is what are you trying to achieve...Basically, it is communication....

If that purpose is achieved by the medium, case closed

VOIP is basically Voice Over Internet Protocol. So voice calls using an internet connection as opposed to regular cellular calls. For iPhone it's things like FaceTime calls and WiFi calling.

Unless you're out of the country, I won't entertain WhatsApp call as a client, neither will I call my clients on WhatsApp without first asking their permission and I don't mean video calls. I see it as not being professional. With normal voice calls, you go straight to the point too because you know you're burning airtime. If you want business, you spend money

The government can already listen to and record your conversations via cellular calls. You're better off using WhatsApp calls if you're so concerned about snooping as it's supposed to be encrypted.

Yeah I know all of those. I was wondering why you were restricting it to the iPhone in the US.

I'm just citing developed countries where it's most popular. Americans are the biggest users of FaceTime calling.

I can assist you set your Whatsapp account professional for business.

I noticed that some people sees use of WhatsApp for calls as unprofessional.

I prefer WhatsApp calls to normal voice calls because it's more cheaper and also helps save normal call airtime for lines that are not registered on WhatsApp.

A woman refused to engage me in business discussion because I called her via WhatsApp. She feels I'm not serious or professional enough.

Do you have any issues with WhatsApp calls for business/official purposes?

Keyword being supposed. Within Meta's VoIP infrastructure, who says it is always encrypted? Troubleshooting issues like jitter and packet loss in VoIP calls sometimes requires an unencrypted connection within the VoIP provider's infrastructure

Don't mind the new cats saying people who don't like Whatsapp calls are archaic. I doubt they know that Whatsapp consumes the data bundle of both the caller and the receiver. Each time you receive a whatsapp call, you're burning your own data as well. If you've not given me a dime or I haven't made any profit from you, why should I spend my data receiving your call?

That's basically how I screen clients and it has worked for me over the years. Most of the clients who called on Whatsapp ended up not booking my service, while most of those who used regular calls ended up patronizing my business.

Another thing is that if the receiver has no data bundle, you can't make a whatsapp call, so what happens in that case? So many inexperienced people here bro. grin

For business communications, it's mostly business VoIP or calls to cell phones in the US. Facetime and WhatsApp calls are mostly for family and friends

It's a bit unprofessional in naija because of the network issues. However, if you are sure of your network and the receiver's network, you can use WhatsApp...but how do you ensure you both have good network? It's irritating when you are making a business call or a very serious call and it keeps saying "reconnecting".

That's the point.
People are commenting here as if WhatsApp calls don't reconnect and make conversations tiring and annoying.

If u call me on WhatsApp I won't pick.
Unless I know u to always have little or no airtime

It's a mixed grill for clients.
Majority prefer WhatsApp calls because of the encryption blabla.

I deal with majority of my clients via WhatsApp, closing deals even without uttering a voiced word.

Just give them what they prefer.

Lmao

Do you know why I was laughing my Ass off?

Most of the people act the manner you said you do.

Illiteracy has eaten deep into the system of most Nigerians.

Because most of the guys that indulge in "Key board battling" would always ask for notification before you hit them live, because they are not truthful, most people now see it as a norm that you must pre inform them before calling on WhatsApp or Video.

When ever I wanna jam a lady up on V. Call and She declines and resort to such statement, I see her as bare knowledge inclined Bae

I think it also depends on what you deal on and who you are dealing with.

If you are dealing with high net worth individuals, they prefer WhatsApp chats than calling. And even when they are free to speak to you, they still use the WhatsApp to call and they will take your WhatsApp call too because they have come to associate you with WhatsApp.

I get it all the time that a call a client with normal call and they begin to ask me who is speaking.
