Thanks a bunch for your response - I am thinking of just getting a new setup - I have narrowed this down to 3.5KVA 48V Growatt hybrid inverter and 7.5/10KWH 48V Growatt Battery and integrating with the existing 4 350W solar panels. I would just sell my current Yohako inverter, mppt charge controller and 2x220ah luminous battery.

Growatt inverters consume too much power o. Is your load that plent? If your load is not up to 2000W, buying the growatt will 1. Be a waste of Money 2. Growatt 3kw inverter is said to use 50W on its own on stanby. That is a lot of power that the inverter will be consuming on its own. But since your system is a 48V system, I dont think you will see any 48V inverter lesser than 2.5Kw upwards but bear in my mind that it consumes a lot ot power. Many youtube videos testify to that

If you have the means, also sell the panels as am sure those 4 panels can't serve your anticipated setup.

I advise you go for Valto's 48v 230ah rather than 10kwh Growatt battery.

Get 475w Jinko panel * 9 (from Gennex)
OR
Get 530w Jinko panel * 9 (from Zeestone99)

If money is not an issue better go for 5kva Growatt unless you don't have much load.

With above you are sure of getting your return.

My 2 cent!

Why would you advise someone to sell their solar panel? Panels last for 25years and you can continue to add as many as you like to it provided the panels are thesame voltage panels. There is no reason to sell panel. You are even advised to overpanel your system(i.e use more panel than you typically need if money is not your problem). That way, days sun does not come out well, your overpanelled panels will fill in the gap. There is no reason for him to sell his panels. All he needs is a good installer who knows how to use 2s2p configurations so far the panels are thesame voltage

Are you new here?

How can you suggest 2s2p for 48v system?

Read my write well, you will understand why I suggested he sold he panels.

Thanks for your response - Never heard of the Valto brand, is it any good? and is there a reason why you'll chose tubular batteries over lithium in this scenario?

I could go for the 5kw but my intended load rating is not a lot - A laptop, CCTV with 5 cameras, 3 fans & 4 energy saving LED bulbs. Focus is on the power reservoir really.. I am also now skeptical about the Growatt brand after reading @viperVIP 's experience with the particular model.

Copy you on the panels also, thanks.

What inverter and battery brand & model would you recommend?

Can you provide the wattage for the bolded and how long you intend to power them within 24 hours?

For inverter, get 24v/48v 3.5kva "Crown Ricco Plus or Grovolt Ricco Plus", they are same with different brand name. The idle consumption is 27w - 35w Max.

For the battery Valto's LiFePO4 battery is better, as I will never choose Lead Acid (Tubular, AGM, etc) over LiFePO4.

There is another issue to address.

I recently bought Jinko 545 watts panels.

The datasheet states those values for two states STC (Standard Test Conditions) and NOCT (Normal Operating Cell Temperature) which of those values should he use?

My friend wants to purchase 4 pcs of canadian pv 300w at 65k in alaba market.
I wanted him to buy 2 pcs of 550w Jinko pv from Gennex at 149k each, buy 3kva 24v hybrid inverter with higher Vds and go for 2s1p.
I hope he won't fall into the hands of stiker pasters.

It's 545w @ 148,500 from Gennex, not as boldly stated.

Your friend must definitely enter one chance, if he goes against your suggestion.

Thanks again bro. Pls can this setup power a 1hp pumping machine. I attached pic of the spec
Penuelseun:
Let me advise you based on my setup which consists of a 12v 1.2kva inverter, 120ah lifepo4 battery with 120a BMS, 600w panels connected to a 60a pwm CC. It powers my electronics which are a 43" led tv, a LG home theater system, a DC ceiling fan, charges laptops and phones with about 4 10w AC bulbs. I put on my fridge occasionally during periods of good sunlight.
So far so good, I have electricity 24/7

It's always good to ask questions especially when you don't have much idea about something.
The answer to your question is NO.
If you're planning to use pumping machine, then you'll go for a bigger system and that will also involve a bigger amount of money.

I have a couple of Powmr for sale, so my view may be skewed towards it...forgive me in advance... grin...but Powmr does have editable profiles you can edit to suit the charging profile of your battery. See snippet of the manual attached. I am sure a couple of folks here use Powmr for their lithium batteries.

Good day everyone,

I want to share with you the updated version of our offgrid energy calculator

"It is a DIY Off-grid Energy calculator which you can use to determine your energy requirements, solar panel size, Inverter size and Battery size too".

This is the Version 2.0, which is built based on feedback from previous release and it is improved with more additional appliances.

I will like to recommend it to those just starting there Solar journey and pro users alike to use it.

Attached in my bio is the link to the website where you can make use of the web application and also a short video showing how to use it in follow up thread.
