"It is a DIY Off-grid Energy calculator which you can use to determine your energy requirements, solar panel size, Inverter size and Battery size too".

This is the Version 2.0, which is built based on feedback from previous release and it is improved with more additional appliances.

I will like to recommend it to those just starting there Solar journey and pro users alike to use it.

my fridge consumes around 140w, installed freezers consumes lowest 120w and highest 180w, they come up at 10am to go off around 4pm

Finally got this fan from the same vendor at 37k today

The sad thing about these counterfeit Canadian solar panels [/b]with stickers, is the poor output you get from them. Just imagine you designed your solar system with say [b]8 units of the so called Canadian panels. You should've an installed capacity of 8 x 300W = 2400Wp or 2.4KWp

You also considered that the real power you get from this setup would be probably 50-70% of the value stated on the name plate, that is 1.2KWp ( using 50% coulombic efficiency).

You estimated that with that value you should be able to top up your batteries in about 7-8 hours assuming we are using 4 units of Lead acid batteries (12v 200Ah). You then go ahead to install for your client who complains that, the batteries never get fully charged and you are wondering why? You check your design again and everything looks okay. You tell the client, it's probably the bad weather and Client test runs again with hot blazing sun and complains bitterly that it's the same result.

Your problem is that you calculated with the fake name plate of 300W meanwhile, the real wattage of the panel is 200W.

8 x 200W = 1600Wp
and 50% coulombic output is 800W and you'd need about 12- 13 hours [/b]to charge the said battery bank.

This is a huge difference and it will rub off on your competence in the end.

Your clients will jump to the conclusion that solar power doesn't work but that isn't the case. It's just that you choose to [b]patronise sticker Canadian solar panel.

Please people let's do our best to change the negative perception people have about solar power by choosing and insisting on getting quality products.

This industry needs competence. Let's not be the reason prospective customers will lose faith in solar power.

Thanks a bunch for your response - I am thinking of just getting a new setup - I have narrowed this down to 3.5KVA 48V Growatt hybrid inverter and 7.5/10KWH 48V Growatt Battery and integrating with the existing 4 350W solar panels. I would just sell my current Yohako inverter, mppt charge controller and 2x220ah luminous battery.

Please lemme know when you want to sell your existing set up you may be help a bro.

I will be installing tie grid solar power systems in new 3 bedroom buid... No air condition, no heater, no microwave... Just the regular appliance with 0.5 hp whale submersible pump.
Am currently on 12v system with tubular battery but will ignoring all that with new total systems...
I will love recommendations on what capacity of panels(jinko) , battery(lithium battery) and inverter (brand recommendations required) to work with.

I saw 1000w. Mehn man I was stunned.

Those using Standalone inverter with separate CC to charge they LiFePO4 battery, what happens when the battery is fully charged and you still have Load connected and solar is available.

1. Will the battery keeps charging just to supply power to the load?

2. Will the BMS shutdown inflow of power from the CC and thereby supplying the load directly from the battery?


I know that with hybrid you can set power to be used from solar alone, but I am considering how possible it will be to use the power from pv(when available) and not touch you battery when you have a floated battery in a standalone point of view.
