The son of the Lakers superstar was rushed to hospital after the incident happened during a USC workout, according to TMZ.

The 18-year-old is said to now be in stable condition and is no longer in the ICU.

Bronny, who recently committed to the Trojans, was taken by ambulance from USC's Galen Center, the venue where the school's basketball team plays and practices, after a 911 call reportedly was made at 9.26am Monday.

The incident is believed to have been a Code 3, which signifies the seriousness of the call as it requires ambulance lights and sirens.

Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest,' a spokesperson for the James family told TMZ.

Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.

'We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.

'LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.'

Bronny recently took another step on the path to following his father's footsteps by choosing to wear his iconic No 6 at USC for his freshman year.

He is safe and alive all because of qualified and dedicated medical team, and also due to the timely response of the emergency agents.

If he was in Nigeria and this happened, we will probably be mourning and posting his pictures all over twitter and other social media.

He's an Ajebutter. Poor lad grew up under conditions that would make him vulnerable to diseases of affluence. His father , the 🐐 of basketball, knew what it meant to not have breakfast and dinner some days. Hardship is what propels most elite athletes and not privileges.

He doesn't have to be a basket player like his daddy. He should consider a less strenuous vocation.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family in his moment of recovery ❤️.

A country where things work. In Nigeria, the boy would have died like that pretty Chrisland Girl. If you go to any sports centre in that country or schools...both private and public, even public places including airports, there are AEDs hung on the walls everywhere, blinking and ready to be used.

There was a day one senior servant in the country developed a cardiac arrest at the abuja airport. They watched this man as he bid the world goodbye. They just surrounded him. The ports health had no single AED, none was found in the airport. So sad!

I was discussing with a friend in Germany recently about the effect of Russian war on global economy. He said Germany had always prepared ahead of the unexpected. He said they're generating their energy from coal and other means. Here in Nigeria, somebody who was overhyped as Mr developer went and removed subsidy without a palliative in place, just like the adage of putting a cart before a horse. Whereas, Angola, another oil-rich country only reduced the subsidy and before they did, they had already made available necessary palliatives. This is very wrong
