The reason why resuscitation seems not to be working in a place like Nigeria is because we don't have automated external defibrillator readily available.

Without this machine within the first 5mins when the the heart is still in shockable rhythms, there is nothing anybody can do. This machine is very important but yet scarce even in some hospital settings.

USA is not Nigeria. The boy should be grateful.

that boy being playing high level basketball from a young age. That’s a lot of high pressure and high volume blood pumping. If they do an ecg I am sure he has left ventricular hypertrophy and this caused the arrhythmia that caused the cardiac arrest

That's enough to end a very beautiful career. Hopefully the cardiologists can do something about it. Hopefully the results look good too.

That brings Kanu Nwankwo to mind that year when he played for Inter Milan. An early detection led to the operation in his heart that saved his football career.
