Jojodjo:Bro please, stop! Don't disrespect Ajibade like that. Though I disagree with most of that guy's opinions, I would not want anyone to bring Ajibade so low. So you know, Ajibade is one of the VERY BEST players on the Super Falcons team, she's hardly ineffective for the Super Falcons - A player who also plays multiple roles for the team. If I may ask, did you watch the last AWCON? Who was our best player? How many games has Ajibade played where she was poor for the Super Falcons? You think any kind of player can stay on the Athletico Madrid team, commanding starting shirts? On comparing her with Caicedo, in my opinion, whatever Caicedo can offer, Ajibade offers more. Compare their statistics and let me know. Ajibade's major weakness is decision making, which I know she'll improve upon cos she's still young. Finally, Ajibade can fit into any world class team and command decent game time. |

So i should not call a spade a spade? I never said Ajibade was not a good footballer, I said she's not done well in recent times for the GWG which is but the fact but that does not mean she's a bad footballer. Oga even if it's Mbappe that has had few bad games irrespective of his status, i'll still say the same. Talking about a player's bad form is no disrespect. On her form and Caicedo's, i'll say no more. The pitch would do the talking for both of them. CoolJulian: |

We've seen players who've ran the length of the field to the extent of even taking the ball out of play without realising. I didn't downplay PACE, he made it seem like a really really big requirements a player must possess ahead of other qualities. An attack should have one or two pacy players but not necessarily all players. daveP: |

I have to give kudos to Randy.. it's clear he has drilled this team well, especially defensively. At the start of the game, we sat back too much and soaked a lot of pressure that could have cost us, but gradually,we eased into it.. it was after we scored the third goal that Australia resumed their dominance...I believe we could have scored a fourth cus we had a few good counter attacks that were wasted... It was a really good game... Against Ireland,it would be a different ball game... I hope we can top the group.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by ThePresenceWtf: 5:45pm On Jul 27, 2023 |
daveP:That has nothing to do with her goal kicks...It has everything to do with instructions and the way our team is set up. ( Watch her for her club side, she tries in being a ball playing goal keeper...Both Short and long passes as well as on her weaker foot) I wouldn't pass to Demehin no matter what... and Ohale isn't a ball playing CB ( She's a Penalty Box old fashioned CB type) She's supposed to be instructed to kick towards any side of the field Onumonu plays, have the midfielder on that side closer to her ( Onumonu) so they can win any 2nd balls, have the full back on that side push up a little bit to win and recycle possession should the ball fall back towards our own defensive 4th...Then the Striker should be instructed to stay on the shoulder of the opposition's CB ( RCB or LCB) where the ball was kicked to chase down any Knock downs from Onumonu or the opposition's defense. Teams do this often, e.g Mancity's long kicks goes to either FB who push up to a particular side of the pitch, with the rest of the teams shifting to that side to make the pitch smaller and difficult for opponents to win the ball... Chelsea did it when Cech Kicking to Drogba, Courtois to Ivanovic, Kepa to Alonso...With all of them winning headers or contesting for it. Liverpool does same thing too... Virtually almost all teams have a Goal Kick routine, but looks like we don't. Baffling. |

yinkeys:Toni has gone unheralded in this team....She's the only one able to make forward passes and drag us up the pitch with her progressive passes and runs. |

Just saw the highlights of the match on Fifa website. Mehn, that Asisat goal was 80% intelligent anticipation, 5% speed and 5% execution. What a goal. There's a reason she's called "agba baller" Meanwhile, do female football clubs tweet to hype their players when they score goals in major tournaments like the men's clubs do? Barca femini suppose dey hype Asisat for that goal. |

For those of us who like permutations what happens if we lose to Ireland and Australia beats Canada, who qualifies? If teams are tied on GD, what determines the qualifier; is it head to head rule, do cards come in, goal scored etc |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 6:44pm On Jul 27, 2023 |
AndSunGorilla:According to the rules, it's Points first, then Goal difference, then Goal scored, then Fair play So if we both lose by say 1-0, we'll have same goal difference but we qualify by goal scored (we currently have 3 and Canada has 2). |

Man, Randy Waldrum just dey burst my head steady 😎 On why he benched Oshoala... Randy Waldrum said he benched Oshoala at the start of the game to manage her long-term injury, but always intended to send her on when it was most needed. On his players... “I’m so proud of these players. So many people didn’t believe,” Waldrum said. “Didn’t believe in me, in the team.Source: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/article-substitute-asisat-oshoala-seals-nigerias-upset-win-over-australia-at/ Did this Globe and Mail people just type Uchoibe Ohale 🤣? WTF! 😂 |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Kibbs(m): 8:06pm On Jul 27, 2023 |
Deltamani:Actually she does. She’s no ball playing defender by any means rather she’s an old school no-nonsense type whose first instinct is to clear the danger first and think about any other thing later. But that doesn’t take away the fact that she’s one hell of a defender who’ll gladly put her body on the line on both ends of the pitch. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 8:07pm On Jul 27, 2023 |
The conversation started before today's match; I was not making reference to today's performance. Oga Ajibade was experiencing poor form in the last 5matvhes or so for the Falcons prior to today. naijaseeker: |

naijaseeker:Oshoala should go? You don’t have rope you’ll use to drag her? Omo, people sef. Ok, who’s her replacement? At least it’s arguable that the others you mentioned have their replacements at the ready, who’s Oshoala’s replacement? Agba analyst 🤌🏾 |
