Last I checked, both NBA and other statistical agencies listed the South East as the poorest in Southern Nigeria.
Do you really believe that people that live in these kinds of house are poor?

Picture 1: Aba, Abia State

Picture 2: Onitsha, Anambra

These are not estates, but places a typical resident lives in.

It's the reality of how the sampling size used in the majority tribes like Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani that I find concerning.

The population of the South East is the least so the sampling in relation to SW and NW may not be fair. If you sample 10 people out of 20 and take same size of 10 people among 50 people, the probability is higher in the population that is lower but I know you can then use statistical tools to test and analyse the variations which I am aware is still based on statistical assumptions.

It is either the NW and SW group data are faulty or that of the SE is faulty because both groups are at the opposite poles with SE being the least populated zone while NW/SW are the most populated geopolitical zones. I will not even bother go to the apparent asymmetry in having the SE's data in this report with the reality in SE at a time Igboland is having long days of political sit at home days and massive emigration of SEterners to other zones further increasing the chances of reduced population of SE. Check my signature for free stuffs!
Fulanis that are not up to 6% of Nigeria population are majority group according to your biased and poor thinking ability. Always writing nonsense to demean and look down on Igbos. How can you say Igbos occupying Igboland, Kano, Lagos and Ibadan are minority group in Nigeria?? You are simply biased and troublesome.

Far ahead in which indices

Statistics of poor people per state doesn’t can easily be flawed.

What you can use to determine is IGR

And in every indices, southeast is the poorest in the south and second poorest in Nigeria
IGR means taxing the poor to generate funds for State government. It's never a good indices to measure wealth. There's low IGR in SE States but residents are relatively okay.

If you went through the walls of a secondary school, you would know that percentages have nothing to do with population.

If you like be only 10.
If you are poor, the percentage would show it.

Besides, overpopulation breeds poverty.
So it's not even a flex to be too populated.

Another thread meant to be a battle ground for the Yorubas and Igbos..

Almost everyone in the North Central is poor, according to this chart.

Meanwhile, the bulk of the poor people in the South South are found in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa. Ironically, both states are amongst the top 6 largest oil producing states in the country.
the political elites are feeding fat in oil

Fake stats

How did they arrive at these figures?

North West: 92.8%

North Central: 96.2%

Nigeria wey no get database dey dish out figures. All NBS staff should be sacked. They are collecting fat salaries for doing nothing.

North Central has Abuja, Kwara, Benue, Kogi and Nassarawa. You think if 96.2% of the Population there are in poverty, the region won't be in turmoil? Even Sudan and Somalia no get these terrible stats.
can u mention two factory or manufacturing company Benue or kogi states

You are even wasting your time. South East alone is the only wealthy region in Nigeria. The rest are too poor. If only the rest of the country can also investment in fake drugs and cocaine. Every one would have become billionaires too. cheesy

if other regions in nigeria will learn from south east to invest in banditry like stealing of cows, rams, goats, famers paying dues to bandits or skull mining, fraud, fake documents to work in government, fraud, selling of human parts to alfa's there wealths will spread like south east wealth

First we can’t minus Lagos… Lagos is southwest and there’s nothing you can do about it or else you want to tell me you will lift Lagos on your head if Nigeria split up today!

Secondly, the entire Aba plus Nnewi plus Onistha no reach Ibadan and Ibadan is far ahead of the three together.

Thirdly, the second most industrialized state in Nigeria is ogun state. The infrastructure in Ogun alone is more than the entire southeast.

Here we go, IGR from hell, over 90 percent of Nigerians revenue is used to service debt, aren't your pay Master in Russia looking for debt relief, poverty capital of the world, the real IGR are small and medium scale businesses, travel to advanced world and see how their govt fall over just to ensure these businesses thrive, cos they constitute the real economic base of the Middle class. Who dominates in Nigerian commerce, your denial doesn't matter, Igbos are just naturally resilient 😉

Of course you cant minus Lagos, it was capital of Nigeria for over years and you cant do without it. Ibadan was capital of the Western Region even before independence

South South: 75.6%

Apart from Abuja North Central is completely damaged by fulani herdsmen.

The poverty in Niger state is huge, the poverty in some parts of Benue as result of displaced people no be here.
Almost half of displaced men and women in North East of Nigeria are in Abuja begging and constantly on the move to no where.
Is that why only 800k people are living above poverty level, stop seating in one corner making up unreal stats.
That Stats is complete falsehood and I can prove it

Keep quiet, this is where I live and work.

The poverty in Nasarawa state alone is mind boggling let alone the inability of people to go their farms. Same with Kogi state that most of their indigenes are in Abuja because of kidnapping and all sorts.

My work takes me round these states I have just mentioned.

Don't counter what u don't know, rather keep quiet and remained so.

If not that majority of Nigerians are not really bright, this shouldn't even be news. You can't dominate in education and still dominate in trade/commerce and craft without being ahead.

If Igbos are not relatively well-off, we won't be living in decent houses. The only reason why SW is doing relatively
okay as well is due to proximity to Lagos. Otherwise, they won't even be close to Igbos at all.
Not only proximity to Lagos, remember the statistics is about region and not tribe, the population of Igbo business men and women in south west are also counted for south west to reduce poverty rate like the way they contribute in IGR. In all, the two regions are doing well.

Empirical data based on statistical rigor remains the standard. Anecdotes proves nothing.
A typical sign of humans with lack of critical thought is their penchant towards the latter over the former.
