Empirical data based on statistical rigor remains the standard. Anecdotes proves nothing.
A typical sign of humans with lack of critical thought is their penchant towards the latter over the former.
There is something we call correlation in regression analysis.

There is a direct positive correlation between attendant poverty rate and quality of houses.

These images prove it

Image 2: Quality of housing for average residents in Onitsha

Confusing yourself with words when you could have corrected our ignorance by posting the said data. Where is it?

Far ahead in which indices

Statistics of poor people per state doesn’t can easily be flawed.

What you can use to determine is IGR

And in every indices, southeast is the poorest in the south and second poorest in Nigeria

IGR means taxes.

What do they even teach you in those SW universities? SE also has the lowest number I. The Social Register of Most Vulnerable Households.

SW came second.

So this NBS stat is solid and reliable

Poor Igbos are all over the Southwest in large numbers and more are on their way in Ekene-dilli-Chukwu buses as we speak.
I entered Lagos about 5 years ago with #4,500 with The Young Shall Grow.

I squatted with a friend for two years.

On the same second year, I got my place. I resigned from my work place that same year to found my business.

Today, a lot of your brothers are depending on me for their salary every month. I didn't struggle to get all these things. Thy came naturally at the right time.

It's not our fault we are blessed.

Most of your brothers I started with are still blaming bad government.

Remove Lagos from SW, you guys will compete with NE in poverty level.

It's the reality of how the sampling size used in the majority tribes like Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani that I find concerning.

The population of the South East is the least so the sampling in relation to SW and NW may not be fair. If you sample 10 people out of 20 and take same size of 10 people among 50 people, the probability is higher in the population that is lower but I know you can then use statistical tools to test and analyse the variations which I am aware is still based on statistical assumptions.

It is either the NW and SW group data are faulty or that of the SE is faulty because both groups are at the opposite poles with SE being the least populated zone while NW/SW are the most populated geopolitical zones. I will not even bother go to the apparent asymmetry in having the SE's data in this report with the reality in SE at a time Igboland is having long days of political sit at home days and massive emigration of SEterners to other zones further increasing the chances of reduced population of SE. They are miles ahead of you and there is nothing you can do about it apart from lieing to yourself. Travel and see you no go gree but sit in your face me I face you and regurgitate your propaganda.

Traders hardly pay tax. Taxes are higher in SW because they are deducted from source (by force) through PAYEE, it has nothing to do with the wealth of the citizens.

SW has higher number of employees who pay taxes by force while the East has highest number of self employed who hardly pay tax but wealthy.

We need proper census to know the situation of things in Nigeria.

The only data I take seriously in this country now are IGR, petroleum products consumption and crimes. Those figures are accurately recorded.

On the flip side, unemployment, GDP per state, and poverty figures can be doctored or calculated based off of estimates.

We cannot keep running a country on hypocrisy. It will take us nowhere.
You sit in your home and decide which data is accurate and which is not.

This guy wan teach me work for data analysis, lmao

Maybe your regression analysis did not tell you about the Rsquare factor and confidence level.
How much of the sample data truly represent the population? Your entire southeast no pass oyo state, and yet you have more slums than the entire southwest region. That’s like 90% of your region is slum

IGR tells you nothing about poverty.
Now let me teach you.
A gov can impose higher taxation on his people, this doesn't mean his people are richer. Also, a state may have more registered companies this still does not mean that it's people are richer. When you talk of poverty, we look at individuals and households and not how much the state derived from IGR.
Do you understand it now?

Taxes make the government rich but the people poor. That's the story of your Ibadan vs Onitsha.

Every time you celebrate taxes you are celebrating impoverishment of the masses who are forced to pay taxes through PAYEE, choose wisely.

How did you dominate in education, trade and commerce

Last I checked, southwest is the education giant of Nigeria?
Or you think it is by jamb miracle centers? Even with your miracle centers, Yorubas still dominate the list every year. Stop claiming other people’s glory
How did you dominate trade and commerce when ogun state IGR alone is bigger than the entire Southeast region
Oyo is two times that if Anambra. Or where do you think IGR come from?
This chest beating must stop. If you think you are special, others are special too

The only glory I can give you is export and import and trade of spare parts
Oga, where did you check? What makes SW the educational giant? The SW has a much higher percentage of out of school kids. Please verify before disgracing yourself.
Also IGR is not a sign of individual income. Ogun state has high IGR and yet a very high poverty rate. Ondo state has a much lower IGR and one of the lowest poverty rates.

No one with common sense would sit in his room and decide what data is correct just based on his feelings.
For you to determine that a stat is wrong, you need to show your own metrics.
Statistics is an educational field, it's not done with common sense. Instead you need to follow established and academic patterns.
