We are playing short two. Plumptre and kanu
I think Okoronkwo should replace Kanu in the 2nd half. She has better ball control while Kanu is more attack minded.

I honestly want to see gift Monday in this match.

At this point I’d take anyone over this Kanu… she be eyesore

The referee was so bored that she didn’t even bother to have injury time 🤣

Deir ball movement is too slow ,zero ball control but unfortunately we dictate aw our opponent play most times

If we lose, it will come down to goal difference. That gives us an edge.
Ok. I'm sorry I didn't get your initial point. Yes they have to score more. But I hope we won't leave our qualification to that probability. Waldrum should motivate the girls.

I think they are playing cautiously. It's the only explanation for the nonchalant approach to the game.

Not cautiously, it's how we know how to play. This team can't press, pass nor hold the ball even if their lives depended on it. Defense and counter attacks is what suits our playing personnel. It's sad but it's the truth

Please, going forward we need to look for an RB and LB. Alozie should move to the wings and Plumptre should move to CB.

Damn too slow. If your strategy is to counter X then release the ball very quickly. That's the life of counter attacks. The slowest transition for the super falcons since the world cup began.

She's just better at scoring than conjuring play. This first half was just terrible viewing.

If you had high hopes about this team I'd rather you hust squash them now cos it's understandable to have those performances for an opening game and playing host nation. What's the excuse for this? same complaints since the beginning of the tournament.

This team is beginning to annoy the Bleep out of me! what a lackluster performance so far!!

This is how they play when Asisat starts any match.

I don't care how they want to do it but they must to win this game ooo.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by potland: 11:57am On Jul 31, 2023
Thank God nnadozie is no longer playing long kick
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Curtisaxel10: 11:57am On Jul 31, 2023
Meanwhile, our passes have been horrendous. If not that we were playing for a draw, I would have said let's remove Ucheibe and bring in Echegini for some additional creativity. Ayinde stays at DM while Payne and Echegini play CM/AM.

This is very right. We are not built to control but to defend and counter.

That's rubbish talk. Asisat didn't tell then not to control ball or to pass to the other team. Stop looking for a scape goat.

What a mechanical midfield we have....smh... They get the ball and don't know their way up the field. they either lose the ball, make a stupid foul which could result to a card, or dribble like snails backwards towards our goal.

Oshoala is just a passenger, got her best chance of the game so far and somehow, contrived that she doesn't need to score.

Ajibade keeps dribbling into dead ends....Nnadozie flapping at balls like a bird ( 3 times so far ), Ayinde running around making the kind of reckless tackles that got her sent off during thee WAFCON, Kanu doing a Houdini...Can't defend, can't attack, just putting her FB under pressure and disappearing.

I don't understand the gameplan tbh....We are not looking to defend, counter or attack. Looks like we just kitted up to show up...Lol 😂 😆

You guys are to harsh on Kanu. I feel she's just better in counter attack than buildup.

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 12:01pm On Jul 31, 2023
If there is any change Randy should make, it should be moving Ajibade to the left and bring someone else to the right. Kanu has been underwhelming again.

Do you know how many attacks she’s killed cus she either can’t control the ball or give a good pass?

It is not easy to counter a team that isn't under pressure to score.

It's what I noticed..

It's how Zambia plays expecting Banda to perform magic on her own.

I can't scapegoat Asisat.

That's not a cautious play...That's just lazy and lackluster performance. We've been lucky that Ireland isn't that much of a good team, if not the tone and mood in this thread wouldn't be what it is now.
