Nigerian millitary that has been overstretched? Fighting insurgency for more than a decade? With new service chiefs still adjusting?
Nigerian economy is in shambles presently; you don't fight war independent of your economy. Why didn't US go into head-to-head war with Russia despite Russia provocation to lure them in the Ukrainian war? US has not recovered economically from war campaigns in the middle east
Nigeria being the largest in the West Africa will be expected to contribute more than the smaller countries.

The war won't be Nigerien war alone, you can see collaborations and solidarity coming up for Niger.
The West want to use West Africa for the next theater of war.
