Whatever!

What I don't understand is how people borrow money without a plan to repay.

You can't put all the blame on the people that borrowed the money what about the loan company that gave out loan with 45% interest to be pay within 6 to 7 days

They don't force anyone to collect loan, they are running a business and if u know u can't pay back then don't collect.

You are wrong it's against Google playstore policy and nigeria law to give out loan to be pay in 7 days. They are very greedy why should the charge 45% interest in 6 to 7 days loan.

Yes it is a debt but in a civilized place, outrageous and unrealistic interest on loans are illegal. Therefore they are operating an illegal business.

Secondly is their mode of recovery. Too barbaric. They shot themselves

They need to change strategy. Reduce the interest and make it monthly repayments instead of That 7days and u will see how the rate of defaults will drastically reduced

It's a pity. I can see some criminals already celebrating here. Let me explain before you celebrate.
As a owner of fintech app (though not in Nigeria), I already learn from branch international app. It's proxi.
1. Investors invest their money into this loan companies and they make sure they get back their money from the borrowers. For you to get money from them, you've sign agreement with them digitally with your IDs, money is sent to you fast. You receive it with joy and solve your emergency needs. Now it's time to pay back as agreed you failed. They call you with several reminders you failed and even switch off your phone. If you were the one how will you feel? Are you afraid to get loans from banks because they'll deny or get your collateral when you default? Answer.

2. Your information is saved on the server which automatically can be downloaded. All your details are in their database. You can't escape. You'll pay the price with your image being tarnished. How do you feel when your ex, course mates, even pastors and neighbours receive messages you're a criminal on the run owing a Chinese company and refuses to pay? It's shameful and embarrassing. If you're not sure to make Repayment as agreed why borrow? Don't rejoice. Settle your loan dude.

3. I have 3different apps. One on playstore, one on apple store, the other on my website/Facebook. Mind you I know Google policies, I understand apple privacy policy and my terms & conditions together with my privacy policy might not be accepted by any of these. I split the app to meet their policies. I have more downloads from Facebook and playstore but my services is rendered from the app I'm hosting myself. With this I avoid any country's violation. Internet is not regulated but government like in Nigeria can decide to ban users like what happen with case of twitter.
What am i trying to say? Once a customer download whether from apple, Google, Facebook or my website. All data is saved in one database. You can't escape. I know how to handle criminals. So dude go and make Repayments, you accepted it.

Finally, I make #100,000-250,000 a day from these apps because I target salary employees and verifed businesses. Once I notice you're not in this categories I block you. Interesting fact is that you can't register again with sake ID. So to avoid criminals like those rejoicing here thinking it's free money as a typical Nigerian mentality, I block them to avoid dragging words. We all know how Nigerians behaves. Though they're good ones, but those bad eggs will spoil things for others. Some of them don't have the tech to detect.
Mine is different and the currency is far bigger than Naira, I can't waste my resources on criminals. You guys are the ones letting the innocent ones suffer. E.g. if a salary employee got house rent or car emergency to settle, he can run to loan shark when banks and friends are not helping. At the end of the month he pay and cleared. But some of you guys will collect and even switch off your phone. I'm talking from experience which makes me to update my app. If you're not salary or verified businesses. NO!

There's protocols , we adhere to Google policies before app is uploaded. Before any loan company goes against you, it's either you're hiding or refusing to pickup their calls. For me I ask my workers to call and investigate before giving the loan. So if by the time the client fails to pay, we call back to know why he's refusing. If the person is dead, we call their relatives to confirm and we clear it. That's a lost for us too. If they person is still alive but give genuine reason why he/she couldn't pay, we extend the loan. If the person is hiding or refuse to pickup, we allow the interest rate to go until it reaches a certain limits then we take another action by calling his work place, family or someone close to remind him. If the person still fails, we report his file as fraud and we take another action which I won't mention here. We have ways of dealing with criminals.
In my case, they don't born you to default.
The only challenge I have is older people dying. And it's a pity that's a lost for us because we won't come to your grave to get it back. But others payback when due, some explain why they can't. I receive positive reviews that my app is the best in this country.

In just 3months of launching the app, I had over 140000k downloads, meaning before 2yrs I'll reach 10M. People will always need money. Mind you I have other tools in the app which I won't mention here giving me money outside the loan. Infact that's the Money I bought my first car with. It's secret Facebook, twitter, Google, tiktok and other apps employed. I leave that for entrepreneurs.

If I mention my app name here, some of you will be surprise it's a Nigerian and it's same person typing here that owns it. But that's life. Keep your secret.

Nonsense why should you give loan with high interest 45% in 6 to 7days . Are you aware its against Google playstore policy to give out loan with high interest and in less than 60 days.

This apps are supposed to be making cool money in this our current economic but their Shylock attitude is the problem. You give 12k loan and want to collect 18k back in 2 weeks and you start adding default interest of the person fails. This is cruel. Subscribers to the loan only pay back with the hope of attaining a higher level when they will be able to get a higher offer..... Then they default.

Minimising the interest will help them to minimise defaults, they should also be straightforward in the term of the loan unlike the one posted month ago by a nairaland about how he was lured to take a loan with hidden neckbreaking condition
I just repaid the loan I took from Palmcredit, the next loan they want to grant me is 34k to repay 46k in just 28 days.
This is heartlessness

i cant start mentioning names and they are plenty.
some even charge over 100% of the amount u borrowed. they will show u small interest and when u click accept, they will now bring a service charge almost the amount of the money u borrowed. clear case of online robbery

as for fairmoney, branch, carbon, etc they are registered microfinance banks and even if they dont embarrase or defame u but their activities need to be regulated too.
i remember taking money from one of them den, i immediately wanted to return the money back to them because the interest was too high and they told me i cant return it because the interest have been programmed to the duration of the loan. very bad. i even told them that i will clear all the money by month end and they should take the interest for just that month, they still insisted that even if i am paying the next day, i will pay all the interest accrued to it for the duration stated on the app. just imagine
there is something call loan liquidation that u have in normal commercial banks: if i took a loan of 200k for instance for like 12months and the interest is like 2% monthly, meaning 24% for the 12months, i can choose to clear everything after the first month by paying up the 200k and only the 2% interest for that month. i dont have to pay for the entire 24% for the 12months as u can find in those online loan sharks.

you programmed the loan with interest for 7days, if i paid before the 7th day, i wont pay less, u wont reduce the interest. but if i default by just one day, u will add more interest to it and start harassing me.
they have to stop or regulate their activities. this is a clear case of robbery. and when u wanna take the loan, they will assure u ur information are safe with them and that only those u used as guarantors will be contacted incase u didnt pay on time but will end up messaging all ur contacts.
there is this one in PALMPAY app right now call FELXI CASH and if palmpay dont regulate or stop their activities, it will make people run away from their app.
you will take a loan of 10k to pay 13k in 7days and if u dont meet up, interest will keep adding. a loan of 10k ended up at 18k plus just under 20days. 8k interest. and they will keep calling u daily threatening u that u will be embarrased and all ur contacts will be messaged.

you cant defend these people except u work for dem and u have never find urself in a situation where u needed money badly and u had no option than to run to them. alot of people have commited suicides due to the embarasement from these people. govt have to ban anything loan shark because if u delist their app from playstore today, they will still go and create new ones under different names

I don't take loan from them but I know people that take loan from them. What they are doing is illegal it's against Google playstore rules to give out loan with that huge big % interest.

Even yesterday night I received a message that one of my contact is owning Wecredit loan app. Are the above the law? Why can't the respect the laws of Nigeria.

If everyone begins to take laws into their hand there will be problem in the country

The government is not serious yet to tackle this loan shark crook when they are ready before any loan app should get approval they must make sure the deposit atleast 50 million naira so when the invaded their customer privacy the should revoke their licence and confiscate the money
