Hi everyone,

Am very new here but I need help pls. Am an undergraduate, being a science student I apply for admission into university of Regina but am given an admission into commercial course. I don't know if this would affect my study Visa application hope it won't raise the eyebrow of the immigration officer.
Pls I need answer on this so as to know what to do.

Since you're an undergrad,
1. The VO doesn't know which course you applied for and will make a decision based on the info you submit! It'd have been a different case if you going for MSc (but since you didn't have any BSc degree before, you have little to nothing to worry about career progression.)
2. The question you should ask yourself (or perhaps we ask you) is if the course "given" to you is of interest to you? If yes, please proceed with your study permit application and write good SOP.

3. Good luck!

Don’t stress yourself. Naso background check go Dey from start to finish. It only changes when you get a decision

StanOyiga72:

This is also something I am worried about. I applied on the 17th and since then it's been showing background check in progress while eligibility hadn't started. My question to those who have gone through the waiting process is; did it take this long for the background check?

Hello house.
A wonderful morning to you all.
I want to ask a disturbing question.
I got admission into Algoma university and in the conditional offer, I am to pay a huge sum.
I related with my agent letting him know I cannot afford that money before the payment deadline because it was more than expected. The school demanded 11500cad as initial deposit and I can only afford 5000cad at the moment due to exchange rate wahala.
He said I can go ahead to initiate the payment and he will work on it with the school to get the unconditional offer as they always know what to do. That the major decision lies with the officials issuing visa documents and not mainly the school as you can pay the full fee and still get denied a visa.
I am very confused now because I can see the school stated it that the main condition for acceptance is the initial deposit as that is what grants the offer for a place in the school.
Please what should I do at this crossroad ?
Has anyone been in this kind of situation? How do I go about it please
Thanks as I await your response

Good morning house. Please can I call IRCC or contact a MP concerning my study permit application which was submitted early in May. I use an agent, though the agent have sent like 3 mails but have been reluctant to call them and I am worried. Aside upfront medical pass early June no other update on my GCKey. My resumption is early September. Please I need your advise.

Please don't panic. I was in your shoes few days ago. But my passport is now ready for collection in Lagos.

Since it is now in IRRC office, you can send webform and/or email to IRCC office to fast track the process. I did that like two times when I didn't get any update after 6 days at IRCC office and I wish I did that earlier.

Pls can you put Me through on how to do this

Yes. You might not even have to submit supporting docs to show what the parent does. Just state in your sop what the parents does, and how the parent has always been a pillar of support to you hence they deem it fit to support with such cash gift. Attach birth certificate and parent ID to prove relationship.

Good morning house.

1. My birth cert has name arranged as John Ciroma adekunle

But other documents show Adekunle Ciroma John.

2. Also my Waec Cert has my first name shortened to Ade Ciroma John

For 1, do I need to do a change of name or will an affidavit suffice.

For 2, will an affidavit suffice. Please advice, thanks.

Hello everyone, I have been following this thread for a while now, I appreciate everyone for the great contributions. Please I will need your candid advise. I have secured a LOA to study at a college in Canada before joining this thread, I secured the LOA myself though because an agent demanded for 300k service charge, I guess is on a high side and that trigger me to do it myself.

NOW THE VISA STAGE.
Due to different testimonies from the agent I decided to allow him run the visa stage for me and he promised to do sponsorship for me for the proof of fund for 250k, while his own service charge is 850k and I’ve deposited 500k.

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED TO HIM
Academic certificate
Academic Transcript
Declaration of Age
CAC Certificate
Car receipt and registration
NYSC Certificate
Land Red copy survey
Marriage Certificate
Tax Clearance Certificate
LOA
Admission Acceptance receipt CAD 500
Police Clearance Certificate
Drivers license
NIN
International passport
SOP
Wife and children passport, NIN and birth certificates
Professional certificates. Pump, Veterinary Council of Nigeria certificate and NDLEA voluntary cert during NYSC

***My main problem ***** After reading through this thread I now discover that as old as I am at 43, married with children and have a valid registered company it won’t be reasonable for me to use a sponsor as POF.

**Due to you great people here contributions I have decided to do the visa applications myself and I will need your guidance.
I will be self-sponsored and I have two options as POF and ur advice is kindly needed.
I have a balance sum of 3.5m in my savings account and I want to add a lump sum of 15m making 18.5m for the study expenses. I forgot to add I’m going for a year diploma course and the bal tuition is 9400 CAD.

My question is should I explained that I transferred the lump sum from my company account that it has been earmarked for my study purpose
Or
Should I explained I sold a property worth the 15m for my study sponsorship with deeds of sale and relevant documents as backup. Please kindly advise me please.

Hi guys,

I have a friend who doesn’t have his passport yet as it’s still in process but needs an application. Can anyone suggest colleges that they have applied to that didn’t ask for a picture of passport data page or passport number. Please guys. It’s urgent.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Frankielilbaby(f): 9:56am On Aug 04, 2023
Hi, transfer from your company account it’s much safer just show you have the authority to do such transaction through the use of a bank letter stating you are the signatory to such account and the transfer narration should state your company name.

I’m speaking from experience. Worked for my dad so I pray it works for you.
