Please does anyone know why dtigress IG page is silent and instead info is coming from dtigers?

Also some Mainstays are missing. I heard Chidom resigned but where is Adaora?
...yes their I.G page has been silent, however, i do not know why, although their twitter page has been popping. As regards the regulars, it has to do with the federation, the story long.

On Mainstays missing, it's a long story o. The shirt version is, the NBBF didn't take kindly to the girls doing a video the last time to get their monies payed. Their intention was to disband the team, but knew it was going to ignite public outcry so they instead chose to do the next best thing. The girls had been reaching out to find out what preparations were for the afrobasket and didn't get any response.

3 weeks to the tournament, the NBBF announced a new coach for the team (the girls found out same as everyone). Then 2 days later, they declared open tryouts for the national teams and anyone interested could attend. It was more or less saying the girls who had won the competition 3 times in a roll should come tryout for the job, and all this was a few days notice. Even if the girls decided to shamelessly attend the tryouts, they were going to be responsible for transporting themselves to Chicago where the tryouts took place and book their own hotels to make it. It will mean spending thousands of dollars to audition for a job you already proved yourself in.

It was why Odera resigned, to draw attention to the mistreatment of the NBBF. The tryouts failed anyway as only 5 people attended. They still had to extend invitations at the end of the day to a few persons on the old squad.

Okay I recall part of it. Also I think they went on strike after that. Maybe thats why the NBBF did trials as they didn't know who was in. I'm not trying to defend NBBF. I just want to believe that I will still see Adaora and Promise on the team.

Anyways its weird that you can just assemble a new team and they march on to the finals just like that.

They didn't go on strike o. That rumour was peddled by the NBBF to provide justification for their actions. The girls have had to come out repeatedly to debunk the claim and committed to their availability whenever required. Also, the NBBF still had to invite some members of that same team when their tryouts failed. Amy, Musa, Balogun, Ogoke and Nicole were all part of the previous team.

...the girls wanted to come back, they already put that behind them, they were ready for camp, they kept asking the federation about camp, but the federation was still hurt that the girl took the news public, they basically wanted to disband the team but knew they had to do it tactically, ultimately, they went the open trial route, which many players did not attend, who goes to an open try out for a national team, you must pay for the flight, feeding, accommodation e.t.c of the players, however, the federation said the players were responsible for their welfare, hence the regulars did not show up to try outs, some players still had their season ongoing at the time, Ultimately, they still had to invite some players, but did not extend to the older players that lead the protest. Nigerian basketball federation is worse than Football federation. As regards walking to the finals, Nigeria has so much talent, the pool is so deep.

We will beat England on Monday! Playing the English will be one of the easiest game at this world cup. We only need to get Uchiebe closing down L. James and not allowing her to shoot. Aside James and looking for unwarranted penalties the English are worse than Ireland!

You can laugh all you want. I have watched all the English games over and over again. The first game against Haiti that James did not start, the English were lucky to come away with a penalty win. The same Haiti we outclassed with our second team in a friendly few weeks ago. James scored their only goal against Denmark and was the architect of all the English dangerous attacking moves. Against China James was on fire again.
If we take James out the English attack won't have a single shot on target. I am even presently watching England vs Denmark replay on peacock!

Those kind of matches are the most difficult to play. A single goal against us could end all the hard work. The anxiety in that first half is normal, despite that we could have scored within the first 15 minutes with Oshoala chance.
The 2nd half was better cos they knew Australia is ahead and might be difficult for Canada to come back and were unlucky with that save from Kanu's header.
Infact we had the best chances to score against Ireland than Australia and Canada.

Yes. Ironically our best game. Weakest opponent but the last group game is always tricky.

Nathan Tella got an assist for soton’s first goal against Sheffield Wednesday in championship opening match of the season

Joe Aribo subbed in 89th minute of the encounter which ended 1-2 in favor of the saints

A huge space for the young bomber to fill but I trust he’s guts. Orban is fearless and looks like one who will perform for spurs 🔥
