The Senate just gave him a face-saving opportunity. As ECOWAS chair, all the vultures expected him to lead an intervention militarily in Niger but the Nigerian Senate has given him an escape route. He berra takes this opportunity offered by the Senate. 1 Like |

That's Tinubu's smart way of avoiding the invasion without appearing like a weak leader The overwhelming majority of Nigerians are against war at this time. When I explained to my wife, she asked me what our business is with Niger. Obama also used this method to avoid the invasion of Syria that year after giving a red line that Syria eventually crossed. As it is, Nigeria is a cowardly country. Afterall we gave up a whole Bakassi just like that. Only piiiiggs don't understand what is at play here. Bunch of pained sour losers and l*natics |

This thing na strategy by Tinubu He actually played a fast one on ECOWAS,he knows the senators will never approved his request for military intervention in Niger but he has to take a step by requesting for military intervention not to look like a coward ECOWAS leader |

Putinofrussia:How will he go to war if the Senate does not approve? Most of you are just showing are ignorant you are. Go and get acquainted with Nigerian laws and the procedure for deploying troops on a war mission outside Nigerian soil. |

If Nigeria army cannot take out Niger in two two weeks, then we don't deserve to have them. Despite humongous budget, the country is still not equipped to take out Niger. Will the Senate give same reason, if it were to be Benin or Togo? The North is protecting their interest because the coup favored their tribe. Where democracy fails, Military rule will also fail too. Africans should learn and practice Democracy well. 1 Like |

[quote author=ecolime post=124900881] [b] Na strategy bro Does Tinubu look like someone who is interest in confronting Niger militarily? He is the ECOWAS leader. The letter to the senate is just for him to make ECOWAS member states, Buhari, France and UK see that he made attempts. Now, no super power will blame Nigeria or him for not protecting their interest. Even a new born baby knows the senate will reject the prayer 7 of his request. Underate Tinubu's Political sagacity at your own peril. Nigga is the real Maradona reason why we never wanted him in Aso-Rock. You can't set a trap for him. Even the great PO knows him in and out, reason why he purposely left out election result and seeking out cancellation of his candidacy. Just listen to the rubbish you’re blabbing on nairaland 🤔 Only a corrupt leader like him will play such game on over 200m+ people. Only an incompetent leader who's home country is faced with insecurity. Broaday Killings and kidnappings, lawlessness acts. everything bad is just here. He was called to declare something he knows nothing about "war" just because he's made the ECOWAS chairman! A wise president who is ready to serve the masses will discuss way out of issues/problems in the country not sitting talking nonsense game you he said he's playing. The lawlessness is seriously telling on him |

Nyanabo: An exposed flaw in our military in such a tour could send a wrong signal to militant groups such as those seen in the eastern part of the country. The militants could be emboldened to think that they could execute an attack on the Nigerian military which (according to the Nigerien Tour) is already seen to be weak. The Fed. Govt has to be wary of such. 1 Like |
