Not Nigeria but ecowas. Nigeria can't sanction any WA country on its own

This Nigeriens are not smart at all. They don't know that they are taking their country back decades because of this short-sightedness and hunger for power.

Real development comes with stability. When investors and foreign allies see that you have a stable government with clear rules for succession then they will be comfortable investing their money.

They are banking on resources forgetting that resources don't guarantee development. The greatest indicator of development in a country is credit rating and that is highly correlated with a stable government. Something they just threw away because they were power hungry.

The next few years will be interesting to watch.

Does democracy bring development and prosperity?
Niger has been thru this road before, and what has been in it for the poor nigeriens? France has been scavenging that country without mercy. Who do you now blame? Most times, western tailored democracy is total crap in crap in africa.

War is never an option if you're not attacked.

We are not bloodthirsty like you vampires.
Sanctions work like magic, see Niger crumbling before their very own eyes and it's just been 1 week.

See what you get when you underrate a real Yoruba man.

Am trying to figure out what step that is?! How are they ahead of Nigeria

People who realized that criminality, massive corruption isn't the way, they stood up and put an end to it and you asked how are they ahead? Normally Tinubu are dumb we all know this else you won't be asking this.

A drug criminal lord with his entourage of criminals are looting and relooting this country dry, yet you asked how Niger are ahead of Nigeria? Dude, you need Brains urgently

This is not a development to gloat over.

All over the world, no external investors (whether individuals or conglomerates) continue with investments, contracts, assignments, etc.., in regions plagued with one form of unrest or the other. While the threats and potential tendencies for violence persist, such infrastructural developments are put on hold, mainly for the safety of human assets and largely to prevent wasting budgetary allocations, should the unrest impact negatively on already started projects.

Back in November 2021, five seasoned civil and structural engineers were kidnapped and brutally slaughtered in Ezzi local government of Ebonyi State, when the government contracted the construction of ring road from the Cross River/Abakaliki Express intersection. The unfortunate incident happened as a result of unaddressed communal discontent and the Ebonyi state government had to temporarily suspend that project pending the conclusive investigation of that inhuman crime. Suffice it to say that I was supposed to be a part of that contingent as a logistics personnel, but I was assigned on another trip to Ekok in Cameroon, just 2hours before those engineers took off.

Dude, those countries are by far better than Nigeria. So what rubbish are you celebrating?

The sanctions were imposed by ECOWAS not Nigeria. President Tinubu happens to be president of ECOWAS...

Hypocrite is when you attack Tinubu for planning war in Niger but when it comes to economic sanctions it becomes ECOWAS decision.

And it should be emphasised that the termination of the contract due to force majeure would not imply the compensation of the dismissed employees.

I trust the Chinese on this one.

Traditional rulers of both communities involved in the imbroglio were taken in for intense questioning. The investigations further provided two of the perpetrators, both of which were able to help security agencies identify the shallow graves of two of the murdered engineers.

Knowing how long Police investigations and court cases can stretch, I eventually lost touch with the case. I don't know if the families of the victims found the needed closure. But I do know the project was kicked off again at some point during the investigation, after security had been beefed up by the Nigerian Army and police personnel.

China is not a democratic nation.
It seems there's some kind of confusion. Okay, let's fix that.

The Chinese Government is run by a civilian and not the military as in coups.

The president of China is elected by the National People's Congress (NPC), constitutionally China's highest state body, which also has the power to remove the president and other state officers from office. Elections and removals are decided by majority vote .

China is not a liberal democracy. The Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) state that China is democratic nonetheless . Many foreign (including you) and some domestic observers categorize China as an authoritarian one-party state , with some (including your lecturers/teachers) saying it has shifted to neoauthoritarianism .
