There is a difference between conventional warfare and asymmetrical warfare. Boko Haram can not face Nigerian military conventionally. If Nigeria invades Niger, it will be a conventional attack, and we will take Niamey within a week if not 3days except Russia mobilise amoured tanks over night which is impossible.

Russia and the US said the same thing about Ukraine and Vietnam/Afghanistan
