uncleck:Most Honda vehicles till date, use manual compressors. I doubt there is anything wrong with yours. The ability of your AC electronics to communicate with the engine ECU so that the idle air control valve receives an instruction to compensate for new load when compressor is engaged is what I think is missing . Summary, check IACV and AC communication controllers. |

nurey:Its how you're oversimplifying his issue for me. Be like misfire never show you sege before. You think it's all about changing coils and plugs. What he needs is a competent mechanic to do a compression and leakdown test. It can be anything from bad timing, the engine needing valve adjustments or as bad as bent valves. |

jceesquare:Biko I need help here. On Saturday I went to fix back the thermostat in my car due to fuel consumption issues. After I left there, my battery warning light came up. Since Saturday, it comes and goes. For example throughout yesterday, I didn't see it but while driving out to work this morning, it came up again. When it comes up, I get a check charging system warning on my instrument cluster. I don't have a multimeter to check the battery voltage but while driving, my scanner is always plugged on and it keeps giving me battery reading of 14volts at least. I dont have hard starting issues. So what could be wrong? I drive an Acura TSX 2008 model. |

| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by jceesquare(m): 1:00pm On Aug 10, 2023 |
vivalavida:Check your wiring harness and wires going to be alternator for breach. Also check for alternator related fuses that is not sitting well. As long as you're always getting 14volts and not some crazy high or low voltage, your alternator is presumed fine. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by vivalavida(m): 2:19pm On Aug 10, 2023 |
jceesquare:Thanks a lot. What are the alternator related fuses I can check or tell a rewire to check? The one I met is just telling me to buy a new alternator and he does not even have a simple multimeter to check anything. Just carrying wires and tester and bulb up and down. |

oluayebenz:When I experienced something like that, it was my alternator. The brush of the alternator had depleted. So, the battery sign was showing intermittently on the dashboard. I kept ignoring it. Then one day, the battery sign just remained permanently. I drove to the electrician straight and got there just before the battery died (because it was no longer charging). And the electrician changed the brushes of the alternator and it was fixed. |

vivalavida:Check another electrician na. It's most likely the brush since the sign comes and goes. The brush is subjected to constant friction, so it wears out with time. |

Hostermipo:Possible problems. Excessive wear in crankshaft journals or bearings or both . Sludge . Remotely not possible to diagnose . |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by Dozieson(m): 7:07am On Aug 12, 2023 |
Hostermipo:Park the car. Possible solution is changing your oil pump. But your engine is full of sludge |
| Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by GAZZUZZ(op): 7:20am On Aug 12, 2023 |
Dozieson:Oil pump failure is very very rare, if you see the design of an oil pump you would understand why failure seldom happens. |
