If the liquidity does flow into the black market, it is all a waste. That's where it's needed to clamp down on the spread between it and the official rate. The official rate has been stable but the parallel rate has been the one falling.

I have said this before, only the bank should be the place to exchange your currency and one at the international airport for those that arrived and needed to exchange some money. Any other location should be charged with breaking the law.

I believe there's high level economic sabotage going on now by people who want a return to fuel subsidy and those who want a return to government regulated special dollar rate.
That's the problem.

This is part of the misnomer in our system.
The CBN is supposed to be autonomous and not tied to the apron strings of the presidency.
It is the same scenario which led to forex abuses under Buhari.
The CBN should enact and implement monetary policies based on what it believes to be in the best interest of the naira and macroeconomic stability and not the president's whims and caprices.
When the president tells the CBN to dole out dollars to some individuals, no one will hear about it.
