It's really scary. Before now some factories are being shut down. Now it's really out of hand. The same people that voted for Buhari and later said they realized their mistakes are the same people that voted for Tinubu.

One begins to Wonder when will we as a people shun tribalism and religion and put the right people in power.

no one voted for Tinubu, INEC foisted him on Nigeria

Do you understand the meaning of subsidy?..... and you understand the concept of foreign exchange and external debt?... and you understand for a fact that Nigeria population is estimated to be approximately 250 million against 125 million in the 2000s which means we spend more on the same income i.e crude oil....in fact we earn less now compared to early 2000s because we atleast had a functioning agro-export industries which in a dilapidated state at the moment.....

Whether we all see shege or not, Tinubu will rule us for 8 years then pass the baton to Shetima.

If you all saw shege in Ananmbra while Obi was a governor and you didn't die but still voted for him again in 2023, nobody will die during Tinubu's adminstration.

Nigeria will be great.

a more sensible would not have taken subsidy off petrol and FX without simulating what the impact will be and how to ameliorate it.

Don't assume other candidates reason at Tinubu's level. The fact that he support and boasted about Buhari for 8 years says a lot

Cummulative effect of successive failed administrations kiiii!! you there, id!ot.

Who hastily removed the fuel subsidy with no plans to remedy the effects??

Who hastily and ignorantly floated a naira that has no limbs to stand on without thinking about the consequences??

As clueless as Buhari was, he still didn't want to implement these obnoxious policies by himself.

Your druglord ignorantly and foolishly jumped into them and you're busy talking about successive failed governments! What a people!

Rubbish!

pls a little reading will do you guys a favour...... It was Buhari that removed fuel subsidy and not Tinubu.... Tinubu might want to claim it but it was Buhari that actually did it......"SUBSIDY WAS ONLY BUDJECTED FOR TILL JUNE 2023"......please dont be emotional about conversations...just bring your facts and lets talk......no be by verbal violence or let me call it keyboard violence....

Its mainly due to the forex issue, even this article throws the VAT increase as the reason like 5 times and forex only 2 times.

If diesel was N650 and you apply 7.5%VAT, then this is only N698!!

Having said that, I do not support adding VAT to diesel at this point in time, but those writing news reports need to have basic common sense!!!

are u reasoning along with me at al? ..... this is not about tribe...its just pure fact! im telling you that regardless of who is president, fuel subsidy will go because its not sustainable.....

im telling you that this country has been without a functioning refinery for about forty years now which is due to failure of successive administrations.....

let me ask you a question, why didnt Obasanjo, Yaradua, Jonathan or Buhari fixed our existing refineries?....

You can’t have access to the $ because the rogues in government are stashing the money. Politicians should be aware because when it gets so unbearable, the poor would come for them and their families . With what I am seeing around, Nigeria is getting there , and the security meant to protect them will leave them to their fates.

The biggest thing i hate about that useless old drugbag is his arrogance!

Why can't that 7.5% VAT on diesel be removed??

Even after his own economic team has recommended its removal, he still left it there!

What's wrong with him? Why's he so arrogant and thinks he knows everything??

Same old man that just woke up, and with no economic team yet, arrogantly announced "fuel subsidy is gone"! Just like that!

I just hate that ugly looking arrogant imp.

So, because of 7.5% VAT is the reason Una wickedly jack-up the price from #650 to #950

Is this 7.5% increase, even if you want to put the entire 7.5% VaT burden on consumers

Even with 10% increase, that will land you around #715...

So why #950 for goodness sake
They are here to do business and not NGO

We've been saying "the poor will go for the rich" for decades now!

meanwhile, more and more Nigerian politics is becoming a political monarchy, where politicians of old put their children and in-laws in the Senate and House of Reps to continue chopping as if its a family retirement home.
