Allow those that want to practice Islam, Christianity and even Traditional religion practice their religions. U can always condemn the evil done by religious people, but stop denigrating one religion to praise another.
Every religion has their issues. That's common knowledge.

Again, I don't see the relevance of these posts at this period.

I'm here to promote my culture and correct the false historical facts peddled by adherents of Islam and Christianity, who seek to destroy African cultures and traditions and replace them with the Arabic and European cultures

If you've issues with that, it's none of my business.

Arabs promote their cultures and traditions, which Islam is a key element of; the same thing applies to the whites, the Indians, the Chinese.

That's what every right-thinking human does.

And you're telling me to allow people practice Islam or Christianity as if I erected a barrier at the door of every shrine of Yahweh or Allah, your churches and mosques preventing people from worshiping their imported deities.

I've not seen any tangible points in your posts so far on this issue.

You don't expect right-thinking Africans not to scrutinize and criticize ridiculous religious beliefs in the imported religions and in the local ones.

If you don't want your religious beliefs to be scrutinized or criticized, then deep down in your heart, you must know they're a sham.

Every philosophy, religion, scientific notion/theory should be questioned and scrutinized. That's how we separate facts from fiction.

That's how societies move forward and develop.

I don't have your time. If perchance you leave Islam in the future, then you'd know theory is different from practice.

Many ex-Muslims today never for once thought they'd leave the religion.

No compulsion in religion, then what's death penalty for apostasy doing in Sharia laws? Historically, millions of apostates and heretics have been killed by Muslims.

And this brainless person is saying there's no compulsion in religion. Who told you Muslims believe that in reality?

Some delusional Muslims used to believe so until they gain exposure and enlightenment and left Islam. And they saw the real color of Islam with the series of attacks and death threats they received from every angle from Muslims.

Even an apostate is not safe from their own parents who are Muslims.

You need your head examined! You are too extreme on your takes and is affecting your mental Health.
With this your temperament,
one can only imagine how your sermon will be if you're still a muslim.... You are the perfect example of people you accuse in Islam. Extremist and fundamentalist!!!!

Lolz. Leave Islam kor, leave me ni. ..

My initial post on this topic was in response to ur post in which u claimed Isese practitioners don't wage war against Muslims. This has already been established to be false.

Later u move on to claim Isese is relatively peaceful but I'm still waiting for ur response to my question that : In what world is killing woman who innocently/ignorantly flout curfew hours termed as "relatively peaceful "?

If we want to scrutinize religions, let's scrutinize each and everyone of them, let's not because of bias condemn one totally and cut the other some slack.

There are several Yoruba academics, scholars and traditionalist who promote our culture without insulting adherents of other religions.

In the end, whatever you are looking for in the holy books you will find it.

You want to be a mellow tolerant fellow
You want to be rabidly intolerant
You want to marry multiple wives
You want to have one wife
You want slaves
You want a cloistered society
You want a liberal society

Anything you are looking for, you will find.

It ultimately comes down to what you want.

You cited an example of Oro worship, and I told you Isese means the totality of Yoruba culture and traditions.

Religion, under which Oro worship belongs, is just an element of Isese. I've not seen any tangible point you've made so far.

Several times on this platform, I've condemned and criticized bad aspects of Yoruba culture and other local cultures such as worshipping a deity, human ritual sacrifice some adherents do, and others.

And yes, I'd cut the Isese people some slack because left to the Christians and Muslims, Yoruba culture can die and be replaced with the cultures of the whites and Arab respectively.

If you don't understand this simple fact, then I'm not here for unnecessary back-and-forth.

I've more important things to do. It's only an African I've seen you'd type 1000-word posts just to explain the importance of promoting the native cultures.

SMH.

Before you waste your time to quote me further, any time you see my posts here, keep in mind these areas are my bias: Philosophy, Science, African Cultures and Traditions, and History.

Those are my interests. Don't expect me to criticize Christianity and Islam the way I'd criticize Isese as a Yoruba because I'm here to promote the good aspects of Isese in the first place.

So, don't waste your time and mine. Africa is under the rule of Europe and Arabia, and you expect me to be condemning the local cultures that have endured years of slavery and colonialization.

You've not made many reasonable points. The default state of most Africans is to demonize and condemn the native cultures due to the influence of Christianity and Islam.

This is what millions of African do and have been doing for a very long time.

And you're saying I shouldn't cut the local cultures some slack?

I shouldn't cut the cultures, which you and others like you have already ignorantly condemned as evil and demonic, some slack.

Don't worry. I'd join other mumu people all around and be calling my ancestors demons now, so I can be fair to Christianity and Islam.

It's arguments like this that make me avoid this thread and Nairaland generally these days.

HAPPINESS

August 20 declared Isese Day in Lagos and Oyo States, Nigeria.

Great first step.

We are waiting for Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Edo to follow suit.

We say Merry Christmas and Happy Sallah to Christians and Moslems in Nigeria.

We greet them with all our hearts when they celebrate their religious festivals.

We are hopeful that they will begin to reciprocate, rather than continue to call us devil worshipers, idol worshipers and pagans.

A ku odun Isese o.

I have given my workers in Nigeria a day off on Monday, August 21.

If you have Isese practitioners working for you, perhaps consider giving them the day off in the future.

You don't need to use insulting words like "ignorantly" , "mumu people" to make ur points while we are having a civil discussion. Experience has shown that people often resort to that when they are losing their grip on the matter being discussed.

Talking about promoting our culture, Lagos state has declared work-free day in commemoration of Isese day, Oyo state government and Ogun state did likewise.

Remember it was on this very thread I informed u Lagos state house of assembly set aside a day in the week in which they conduct plenary session in Yoruba ;an information u confessed not to have been aware of prior to that moment and commended the house for. Lagos state also has a day reserved for civil servants to wear Yoruba traditional attires to their respective work place.

Like I said earlier, there are several academics, scholars and ATR practitioners who do a better job at promoting Yoruba culture but do not go about cussing at adherents of other religions.

As regards ur attempt at playing on semantics with Oro is just an aspect of Isese, well I believe we've been talking about African Traditional Religion(ATR) as a religion and Islam and Christianity.

You're not making any sense at all.

When you're done with your unnecessary shalaye, a person that demonizes his ancestors and cultures while promoting foreign ones who are even worse will always look ignorant and foolish to intelligent people.

A Yoruba that calls the Yoruba creation stories a myth but believes the Arabian version is nothing but a big fool.

When you understand the points you're making, you can let me know. You've not made any reasonable points so far as I don't see how Oro practice is equivalent to ATR or Isese.

Yes and it will free up the $$ for those that actually needs it for import, travel or otherwise.

I reckon 30% (might be lower or higher) of our fx demands are in speculators hand whose main purpose is to buy it, hoard it, create artificial scarcity that makes the price increase, sell and repeat the process again.

Photo of the day for me. The 256 codes of Odu Ifa shown in the picture are marvelous and wondrous especially when compared with the 256-code encryption system used in modern times.

Yet, Ifa, who existed at the beginning of the Homo Sapiens era, invented his own codes in what's called the binary number system today. The Homo Sapiens era is estimated to be roughly 300,000 years old.

I've always wondered how one man could develop Odu Ifa corpus using complex calculations and binary numbers to invent various dialects of Yoruba language, poems, idioms and proverbs, medicines, which form the key aspects of Yoruba culture practiced by over 50 million Yoruba people today in Nigeria and in different parts of thr world.

I studied the life of Ifa and found him a much greater philosopher than many of the best philosophers of the West.

You know what I don't think she'd have done it you know. I reckon the cumulative fatigue she was built up over the few days would have taken it's toll in the end. 2 Golds and a Bronze might have been it. Heck the trip and fall itself was more of Her trying to give a bit more after sensing a bit of pressure,Her finding out She had nothing left and Her legs giving way. The same happened to Her teammate Femke Bol in the 4×400 Mixed relay.

Ryan is so far ahead of the field I reckon He would still have won it from a wheelchair. Nah big up to Him man. I don't know How He did after going through what He did. My biggest respect to Him. 100M final who have you got? Head says Kerley,Heart says Zharnel.

Lols, you think the 1s in that photo are just there for fun or the Ifa symbols (codes), which are 256 in number, are just there for nothing.

I can see you don't recognize binary codes when you see one.

If it was a sensible person that asked the question, I'd have given an elaborate response.

But knowing your antecedents on this forum being a Christ worshipper, I don't see any need to delve into the issue.

Just keep believing Ifa is a demon to serve Christ well.

Asking me questions about basic facts a typical Yoruba should know. Maybe you think the various dialects of Yoruba spoken today dropped from heaven.

Past beings such as Olorun, Orunmila, Ifa invented Yoruba language in all their dialects the same way some modern humans invent programming languages in various versions today.

Zeus, Poseidon, Thor are humans that existed in the past human eras, just like Ifa. All these are higher beings, but still Zeus, Poseidon, and Thor are of greater hierarchy without taking anything away from the greatness of Ifa.

Zeus, Poseidon, and Thor are ancestors of the Greek and Nordic areas. They're in the same hierarchy with Olorun, Chukwu, who are ancestors of Yoruba, Ibo respectively.

Even in modern times, humans have hierarchies. Kings have hierarchies. Players have ranks. The same applies to every profession.

Zeus, Poseidon, Thor, Chukwu, Olorun, Atum aren't philosophers. They are founders of nations.

Those humans built a whole country, a whole civilization.

Even some of them ruled over a whole continent in the past human eras.

Atum was one of the key founders of ancient Egypt and used waves to communicate with the black people indigenous to the country, teaching them complex codes and calculations used to build those pyramids and other wondrous structures.

All these are past beings higher in hierarchy than Ifa.

Ignorant people think Zeus and co are myths. But they don't understand why, for thousands of years, these names have never been erased from history and can never be erased from history.

In the future, if various disasters (natural or otherwise) make modern humans lose most of the world's history as it happened with the past eras, future human species will also consider Messi, Ronaldo, Einstein, Newton, and many of us existing today as objects of myth.

Ifa is synonymous with greatness.
