If it was the Russian president that had said that now, you no go hear word for nairaland. Same thing every sane person has been talking about ever since the announcement of the impending invasion. If you think the AU and ECOWAS would have cared about the current situation in Niger if the US and France had no interest in the country. Then you are mistakenl. Been wondering why they kept mute about Mail, Burkinafaso that occurred before that of Niger 1 Like |

No sane human will support a coup not even the military men except those with lost manhood. Coupist are more selfish than politicians, why did the coup leaders send their families to UAE and left the masses to suffer? What is the difference between them and the so-called politicians? Meanwhile, this war is not about PBAT and it will not necessarily harm Niger civilians bcs ECOMOG will only seize the seat of power, airport, and arrest the Junta like it was done in the Gambia 🇬🇲 when Jammeh fled to exile in 2017. Ppl should stop making moles out of rock this is not the first time ECOMOG will be going for such military operation 1 Like |

accordadoga24: In a situation where you have mediocre in power, constitutional democracy becomes a fraud.. When Buhari came in military attire with nothing to offer, Babagida helped us to remove him before non reversible damages like what will have today happened.. The guy came back under democracy and after destroying the economy, he claimed he was deceived by Emefiele monetary policy.. You might be living cool but there are so many the democracy you loved destroyed.. |

Democracy is a scam. Imagine in an election Mr A got 1000 votes and lost election while mr B with 100 votes is declared the winner. Let all Africa countries return to military rule. Tinubu and his cohorts staged a seemingly successful coup against the people in democracy system and nobody condemned it. 1 Like |

Frankly speaking, I feel tough sanctions should do. The country should not enter Niger though there's a good chance that Nigeria and its supporting nations would win. One can not confidently predict the outcome. That's how America crushed the Taliban in 2001 only to be engaged in a ferocious guerrilla war with them for over a decade. Iraq is another good example. A peaceful solution must be found. 1 Like |

spiSeyi:Democracy is the government of the people, for the people and by the people. Military coup is bad. No doubt. But in all honesty, which West African country can qualify based on the definition? For most of the counties in Africa the people are facing serious hardship and poverty. Is that the way democracy should be practiced? This could be the reason many of the people of Niger Republic are in support of the Junta. Also, there were coups in Mali and Bukina Faso; why did ECOWAS not intervene then? Why now? Also, Nigeria has experienced more military coups than any country in West Africa. Why did ECOWAS not intervene? Besides, have we defeated Boko Haram, ISIS, killer herdsman, unknown gun men and bandits troubling Nigeria? Read the definition of democracy again and ask yourself this question:"What really should be our current priority, especially during this trying period where millions of Nigerians don't know where their next meal will come from? |
