This would have been a problem if the President was from the North, who they can run to complain. But not this time! Tinubu has broken the jinx by making sure that the Minister of FCT is not from the North, though he balanced that out by making the Minister of Niger Delta a Northerner (which makes much less sense for me as you need to know the topography and needs of the people. Abuja on the other hand is just infrastructure and administration)

1.FCT is not a Hausa area. There are many indigenous tribes there. They may use hausa for communication with each other, but they ain't Hausa.

2.El Rufai did not necessarily have an easy ride. He was routinely abused in mosques back then (they were openly calling him Shaytan) and after he left office he was the subject of a 'probe' by the National Assembly....where all sorts of people were paraded to tell their truth about how bad he was.

(El Rufai was no saint, mind. The CCTV project fiasco comes to mind. But he tried).
