Nigeria has been a great tool for Western countries to undermine Africa and the developing world. Nigeria almost singlehandedly sabotaged the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement. It took many African countries rallying to counter Nigeria's plot to kill the continental agreement due to EU pressure to kill AFCTA.

Nigeria today is well known as a Western MOLE among many decent countries in the global south. Nigeria has been specifically targeted by Western countries to do their dirty jobs in Africa. Unfortunately, due to the shady characters assisted by the Western countries to rule Nigeria, we just can't do anything about being used by Western countries for dirty jobs against African progress.

BRICS made the right decision to exclude Nigeria. It would have been a veritable tool for the Western countries to kill BRICS.

Facts, Ethiopia just applied to join BRICS few months ago but they're admitted but Nigeria applied years back but not admitted because
the BRICS know that Nigeria cannot be trusted.

Vice President Kashim Shettima says Nigeria did not apply for membership of BRICS – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

“So far, we have not applied for the membership of BRICS. And it is majorly informed by the fact that my principal President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a true democrat that believes in consensus building,” he told Channels Television on the sideline of the BRICS Summit which was held in South Africa.

“There are so many variables that need to be taken into cognizance. We have to evaluate so many tendencies and issues that require engagements with the economic advisory council, the Federal Executive Council, and even the National Assembly before an informed decision towards joining the BRICS would be taken.”

Oga, everything isn't about hate or love. Try and be objective for once and stop trying to behave as though you truly believe Shettima's utterances. Which you know is a face-saving gimmick. Everybody knows that Nigeria had expressed interest in joining BRICS to boost its economy and minimize the adverse effect of dollars, IMF, and World Bank chokehold on its economic development. In the months before this last BRICS summit, Nigeria's admission into BRICS was almost guaranteed. However, Nigeria's exclusion in the BRICS expansion is based on new considerations. Partly to underscore that the true giant of Africa is indeed South Africa and partly the unforeseen consequence of Nigeria's delayed ratification of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement which shocked many in the world!

It was obvious that Nigeria was acting in the interest of the EU in trying to block AfCFTA from seeing the light of day. This behavior has shocked several African countries that expected Nigeria to play a leadership role in unifying African economies. Thus, Nigeria would have been quietly advised not to formally apply for BRICS membership because none of the current BRICS members would support its application. In the same way, when the time for giving Africa a UN Security Council seat, many African countries will reject Nigeria and choose Egypt or South Africa as the African country to represent the continent because of Nigeria's more recent behavior as a mole of the Western countries. The Western countries actually want Nigeria and perhaps France to join BRICS. So that they can wreck BRICS from the inside. But it is a mere dream to expect BRICS will accept these Trojan horse nations into its fold.
