No system of govt is perfect not even democracy, but then again, I know for sure no bad leader lasts not even emperors.
So just chill, if democracy had favoured majority of your citizens, I'm sure you won't be the poorest country in the world, so it's only natural you try something new.
I won't fall for cheap personal propaganda on things, and I'll advice ecowas not to military involve in a collaborative decision of a sovereign state.
You ended up saying nothing,i had to read your comment twice ,are u supporting or opposing sinple?

I KNOW THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS POST BUT I WANT PEOPLE TO BE AWARE WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN PASSING THAT ROUTE.
Nigeria immigration along seme border has turne to what I don't know demanding intentional passport for Nigerians going to badagry if you don't have you ask to 50k, some 30, 20k Even 100k 80k. Once they stop you first they will seize your phone ask you to open it if any bank on it they will call POS to do transfer these happening at the immigration checking point along badagry expressway opposite palatable food. They drop me, my wife our 1yr and 4 months baby asking me to provide our passport or pay 150k, 50k for each person I explained to them even should them my NIN they said that's not they concern that I should provide international passport I was they start having with one woman that she tell them she's from Lagos state on the process one of the immigration use stick to flog the woman injure her heavy blood start rushing out the area boy's over there get angry start having issues with them.
The immigration at that point are on the run before we left the worst they remove they tag bearing their names they harass people if you have money they will ask you to call your people there's why I said they are now holding people hostage demanding for ransom these has been going on . There's serious fight going on there now before I left they collect 15k from me 5k for each of us before giving me my phone.

That is what happens when issues are not deeply thought through. It is the kind of thinking that led the first set of coup plotters to organise the jan 1966 coup and all the coups in africa.

Last last you end up discovering that you only moved from one foreign power bloc to another and when their interest is no longer guaranteed, they raise another coup plotter and fund him to chase out the previous coup plotter. Then you end up with many decades of the country being led by soldiers who cant be held accountable and only loyal to themselves, their cronies and foreign allies, while you cant even talk or comment on social media (if they didnt even block it) about their attrocities. Plus no end date or election in sight. And God help you that the coup plotters come from a specific ethnic block (which is always the case) and want to further whatever interest they want, there wont be any elected parliament to debate it out. You will just wake up to find out that your town has been carved into another state or that some areas in your village has been earmarked for Ruga or that certain allowances have been approved for local government administators despite hardship in town.

And the cycle continues till another ethnic faction/ power bloc within the military decides to take over sometimes leading to conflicts that can spill to war if not managed. Now compare that to the power of raising awareness, forming ideological groups, creating or merging into political blocs, delivering your vote to those you think can do it, and if they dont get it, going back to do your homework and trying again in 4 years time, and if they get it and refuse to do what you think they should do, voting against them in the next election. And if you see irregularities in elections and being able to go to court while challenging electoral bodies to keep improving their process.

It is immaturity to want to throw away a good method of picking leaders, for a bad one, just cos it isnt favoring you. the mature thing is to go back and get better.
Very True. In its purest form democracy is the best. However anything involving human beings is subject to manipulation. The system might not be flawed, but the people practicing it are. Me disdain for coup rises to the highest heavens like you said it could be a coup that Favours one particular ethnicity. That's scary.
The Nigerian democratic system is not perfect
But how we go do.

Last last everybody will get to share from the pie. When it's your time it's your time even the forces that are against you will work to bring you to power. All the people wailing right now will get their chance and we will experience the good and the bad that they have to offer because, no individual can ever get it right. That's why the system is not necessarily the problem it's the people.

Military should take over all African countries... Let's face this once and be free from these whites..... They've destroyed us
Yeah, they destroyed Africa by forcing it's leaders to be corrupt. Inasmuch as democracy has it's undoings, the problem with democracy in Africa is Africans themselves and their corrupt leader. If you think democracy has a lot of cons, think about a system of government like the military where citizens have little to no rights.
Do you think Nigeriens can dare to openly criticize any perceived failure on the side of their current leaders even on the social media the same way several Nigerians criticize our corrupt politicians?? Imagine a government in which open criticism of their policies lead to incarceration or at worst even death?? That's the better form/system of government to you. Yes, it was the West that made our leaders to be corrupt, dey play. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

You think that it was a sponsored opinion when Nigerians were experiencing this same treatments under the various military regimes??
You think it was a sponsored opinion by the West when the military regimes in Nigeria were murdering activists like Ken Saro-wiwa for daring to criticize military government??
How do you hold your leaders to the law/constitution when the constitution itself has been suspended??
I pray that you find yourself under a military regime first to understand how it goes.

You don't know what it means to be isolated internationally. Most especially, a poor country like Niger that relied majorly on aid.

I don't know why running away from the problems is always our only effective solution to our problems.

For those misguided, misinformed and illiterate Nigerians calling for coup in Nigeria should read and comprehend. I came across a fool saying all over Africa military should take over. How foolish the mind of an average Nigerians could be. The military put Africa into this endemic poverty we are in today. What of insecurity and the overwhelming bastsrdation of the economies of the continent especially Nigeria as a case study. Military are not suppose to be in government because they are trained to fight and defend aggressions and not manage countries. Nigerians wake up and stop parading your foolishness on the world stages in the name of talking. Just not!!!
