https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/8/28/gabon-french-media-hit-by-ban-internet-down-in-disputed-election This is what happened in Gabon 1. Ali Bongo's father ruled from 1967- 2009 2. Ali Bongo took over immediately after his dad's death in 2009 and has ruled till now. 3. Ali Bongo contested against a former minister in his dad's cabinet in 2023 and the election has been widely adjudged to be fraudulent.(How can u ban international observers, cut off internet service and barr foreign media from covering "free and fair" election?) 4. Now military boys tired of the whole shit-show that has taken majority of their lifetime have decided to put a stop to the madness. How AU, USA,UK and other international bodies will respond to this development is what we await to learn whose side they are on. |

Another France's colony in the hands of Juntas if this goes successful. Gabon is rich in minerals and oil too. |

Who are behind the coupists?? That's the most important question to ask. If it's indeed the people themselves revolting against a family that has held them down for many decades, then this is nice and good and hopefully the military organises a new democratic system for them sometime later. (Something very rare). However, if this is another colonial power like Russia trying to gain a foothold in the country, if the coupists are backed and sponsored by Russia, things are about to get far worse for Gabon, because if they thought France was a terrible backer, wait until they experience the Russian brutality experience. At least France can pretend to care about human rights, legitimacy and whatnot, Russia doesn't give a fvck. Let's just hope and pray that this is a genuine citizen-led revolution against a terrible quasi-monarchical government that has pinned them down for soo long. |

No matter what, let us Nigerians NEVER pray for military rule. We've been there and we've seen. Many people will be shocked to know the ratio of northerners to southerners in the military. The north had completely overtaken the military structure of this country, such that any military leadership is guaranteed to be a quasi-northern rulership just like we've had over the years. |

The truth is there would always be a reason for coupist to usurp power in any African country. Whether it is genuine or not, there is clearly a pattern that is forming in Africa May God have mercy on Africa. With the level of corruption in Nigeria, i would be shocked if a coup doesn't happen in my lifetime |

donjazzet:Section 5(1) of Same sex prohibition act 2013 imposes 14 years imprisonment upon conviction on those who enter same sex marriage and section 5(2) of same act imposes 10 years imprisonment upon conviction on anybody who directly or indirectly makes public show of same sex amorous relationship . The law is the law! The law in Nigeria is a function of our cultural values, beliefs, customary practices and the common law. How is it injustice when the police are clearly enforcing the laws of the land. You can empathize with them from now till tomorrow , but those guys will most likely be eating prison beans for the foreseeable future. |
