Until one of these preachers are held liable and show that they are touchable.

Focus on your ministry.
Because his economy is different from your economy?
He doesn't buy food and services?

You think it's every minister that has easy access to Abuja largesse where they can't even say the truth anymore?

City boy is doing the right thing.

The bishop should talk like someone with sense at least. If you remove fuel subsidy and dollar subsidy, there will be difficulties at first because the economy will have to readjust.

We cannot continue to borrow to pay salaries and use 90% of our revenue to service debt.

I even thought removing subsidy would make everything skyrocket to like 500% but I am surprised it’s not that much as expected. If past president since the days of Obasanjo have been bold to remove the crippling subsidy without cowing because of protest, we wouldn’t have been here.

Mr. Man, everything his government has done is to transfer their inadequacy to the people, knowing fully well the people coping capacity cannot bear the burden because of its attendant inflation on all goods and services. Fuel is the engine room of all services in Nigeria. Government should have made some refineries functional, at least that would have reduced to minimal the lifting and landing costs of the lifting crude and refined oil. The economy before now is not smiling, that was why Buhari technically tarried the removal of the subsidy till his tenure lapsed, just because he knows the implication after removal. I pray before the effect will be felt, half of the population would not have gone because people are extremely hungry and angry. No need of playing politics with it.

I'm not surprised though. Even if tinubu rapes your mother, you will still claim he is doing the right thing.
He will claim his mother enjoyed it since it is Tinubu. They are just terrible set of people and hailers and enablers of evil.

Our ‘City Boy’ Has Brought Extreme Hardship - Bishop Adeoye Knocks President

Just three months in office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has brought extreme suffering to Nigerians and almost taken the country to war against the Republic of Niger, says an Osun-based cleric, Bishop Seun Adeoye.

Recall that Tinubu was sworn in as Nigeria’s President on May 29, 2023, making it exactly three months today that he succeeded former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting, however, to the current state of the nation in a statement on Tuesday (today), Bishop Adeoye said Tinubu’s three months on the seat of power has only brought untold hardship and suffering for the majority of Nigerians.

“Today, 29th of August marks three months of Tinubu’s government. But within these three months, businesses are collapsing, people are becoming jobless, hunger now pervades the land, and many who appear to be alive are just walking corpses.

“Let the truth be told, this ‘ground’ is not ‘running’ Mr. President. It has been three months of extreme hardship and suffering for Nigerians. And it is virtually becoming unbearable.

“You and your family are up there in a secured Aso Rock. Those who surround you are big men. They can’t feel the pains the way we, the people, do. ‘Igboro o rerin Sir’. I mean, people are not happy at all. We cannot pretend that there is sadness everywhere,”
Bishop Adeoye said.

The cleric, who doubles as a human rights activist, wondered if there was anything new done by the incumbent administration that has never been done in the history of Nigeria.

He said: “Our ‘City Boy’ almost dragged us into war with the Niger Republic while terrorists, bandits and kidnappers are still having their field days in our own country. The other day, soldiers were slaughtered in Niger state, and some intending youth corpers were kidnapped in Zamfara.

“A new government ought to have even shown some signs of strength, but killings in Plateau, Niger and Benue States and other places were manifestations of ‘continuity’ of the past.

“‘Subsidy is gone’ but the so-called palliatives are mere political statements. A N5 billion largesse to a state with 5 million population is just N1,000 per person. Yet, prices of foodstuffs and transportation have gone up astronomically, and the masses are crying.

“Mr. President, your 100,000 bags of rice per state is a huge joke. It can’t go one ‘kongo or mudu’ each per family. I don’t trade in foreign currency, but how’s the dollar market today compared to when you took over?

“Soon, very soon, we’ll be overwhelmed by propaganda and sponsored performance statistics. But the fact remains that this government has not only taken food off the tables of the masses but has successfully taken smiles off their cheeks,”
he said in his statement.

However, Bishop Adeoye urged Nigerians not to stop praying for the country and her leaders.

Yes, that’s how it should be. In China, they went through a lot of hardship before getting to where they are now.

Tinubu can choose to do like other past presidents. Continue to borrow, continue to subsidize, then let it reach a point where no nation on earth can borrow us money again because we can’t pay back the debt, then watch Nigerians start eating each other.

Shebi na still 90% of our earnings we dey use service debt now, when it get to 100%, una go know how far.
but you supported the reckless borrowings for the past 8yyears without anything to show for it.

I don't normally do this but having gone through what you put here, I have some questions to ask you and I will be glad if you will be honest in answering them:

1) Do you know the rough estimate of the population of every states?

2) The 5 billion palliative that was given to every states, is it going to be enough to the citizen for even a month?

3) 1 Trillion has been saved from subsidy according to the president, If you happen to be the president, will you have to go and borrow 500 billion for palliative having realised you have a saving of 1 trillion?

4) As a commander in chief, why can't he go after those who benefitted from the so called subsidy if he wasn't part of the scam?

5) Did you hear about "A token has been sent to your account" which the senate president immediately changed to "Prayer has been sent to your email box" after been corrected. What can you say about?

6) How old are you if I may ask?

seyezy:

I don't normally do this but having gone through what you put here, I have some questions to ask you and I will be glad if you will be honest in answering them:

1) Do you know the rough estimate of the population of every states?
Let’s use Nassarawa state for example. Their population is let’s say 3m. Out of those 3m, let’s say 40% are considered poor because palliative are meant mainly for the poor.

2) The 5 billion palliative that was given to every states, is it going to be enough to the citizen for even a month?
Their monthly Federal allocation is 4billion. That means the 5billion given to the state is more than their normal monthly allocation. It means the government now have over 120% if what they would normally spend for that month.

3) 1 Trillion has been saved from subsidy according to the president, If you happen to be the president, will you have to go and borrow 500 billion for palliative having realised you have a saving of 1 trillion?

The 1 trillion saved is not cash money like that. NNPC model before was different and could be said to be a crude swap kinda thing. The Nigerian government owe NNPC money and removing subsidy just mean that those money we should have paid to NNPC to sustain the subsidy has been saved. So when Tinubu said 1trillion, it is not normally cash yet in that sense. We still owe NNPC some backlog.

4) As a commander in chief, why can't he go after those who benefitted from the so called subsidy if he wasn't part of the scam?
It will take time and nothing will get done immediately. If you remember, when Buhari came in, he started going after people that looted and the court and EFCC slowness keep slowing it down. If you continue to use the hammer to go after thieve in just 3 month in power, you will lose focus.

Those that benefit from subsidy are not necessarily all thieves because Subsidy is legal. To proof they are thieves, you will need to set up a panel to review over 20 years of transaction. That takes lot of time and resources. What is happening beside getting subsidy for water on ships is also arbitrage. So to track all that, you need lot of time. Don’t let anyone deceive you.

5) Did you hear about "A token has been sent to your account" which the senate president immediately changed to "Prayer has been sent to your email box" after been corrected. What can you say about?
The Senate have always gotten leave money for their recess, it is a normal thing they have always done. That Akpbabio is more outspoken to say it is why it generated lot of stuff coupled with the fact that Nigeria is currently going through some structural rough time.

Just go online and check the total remuneration for senators, you will see all those things there.
