So I pick a minimalist wardrobe.
I buy shirts mostly yellow or white because of our climate
I buy jeans trousers and Clarks shoes.
There is a man at Super bus stop that only sell Clarks or you can get it at Vesper too.

I spend more on shoes but I only have 3.

So my yearly budget on clothing is
Shirts 1k X 5 = 5k
Jean Trousers 3k X 5 = 15k
Clarks shoes 5k X 3 = 15k

So a total of 35k yearly on clothing.
I don't wear native, it seems stupid for me to buy a material, pay a tailor to sew something with a single apparel with a planned obsolescence of 3 months. No o !

Your stay at home clothes should be more of Jersey materials.
Jersey materials and nylon materials have more durability than your traditional polo, they rarely fade and are quite easy to wash.
I have had a Jersey polo for 7 years now, apart from it's dull appearance it's still serve it's purpose of covering one's unclothedness.

This also for work for the guys if the boxers are Jersey material of sports material, you don't have to waste money buying those cotton material or rubbish tight boxers they sell in nylon that only last 2 months.

INDULGENCE:

One unit is sold by this devilish country for 68 naira before it was 20 naira.
That is why they enforce the use of prepaid so that they can pump you with light and enforce consumption so that you money will finish quickly.

Yes they are trying to waste your money. If you look at it, light is a waste product and once you don't use it, you don't recharge as much so now that prepaid is everywhere they will pump you with the light so that you unit will be exhausted quicker.

What makes up a unit.
A unit of light (KWH) is 1000 Watts we buy at #68
So if you on one bulb of 60 Watts for 14 hours 1 unit will go out of your prepaid meter
Why do you think oyibo people use to throw away all those big iron, and old fridge it is because the energy they consume is more than thier budget, we will just rush to Alaba and go and buy it cheap not knowing that they are old, and energy consuming

Look under your iron and you will see 2.5kva
That means the iron will eat 2 unit out of your light every 2 hours that is (68 X 2) 136naira of your money just to iron cloth.

Fan - 250watt
Bulb - 60 watt
Fridge - 500 watt

Now let's calculate it, energy is 1+1
If I put on the fan 250 + fridge 500 and bulb 60 watt = 860 watt
Remember 1000 watt = 1kWh which is the same thing as 1unit
So if you use 860 watt for one 1hour, it's almost as if you use 1 unit. If you use it for 6 hours then you use 6 units which translate to
6kwh = 6 X 68 naira = 408 naira just to use bulb and fridge o. We have not added other appliances o (this is just a room o)
You can now imagine house of 3 bedroom or even mansions.
Knowing this calculation, if you will remain on the grid you can calculate how much you spend on light and how best to reduce it.

ESTIMATED BILLING

This one na pure theft, ask yourself when was the last time NEPA came to read our transformer meter?
Normally they are supposed to read your meter like old analog meter and see what you consumed this month and minus last month reading from it and times it by 68 naira to get your bill.
It means.
If your transformer read 3687 last time and this month it reads 4687 it means you consumed 1000 units in your community
They are to times that 1000 units by 68 naira which is the amount they sell a unit .
And that will give you 68 thousand naira. Which they are to share per the houses so If they are 20 house they all should get bill of
3,400 naira per house.

But all that one has ended the Electric companies use a tactics from Enron called Mark to mark or proforma accounting/ marketing
Where they will say let us drag 2 billion and see how much we can get, they will use the computer and drag 40 thousand grrrrrrr down.
Inside the 2 billion they might get 1.5 billion depending on how much they can charge and harass you to pay
