Chizzy7890,
I think your parent might have sold your daughter off to highest bidder and chop the money. Before arrest, enquiry or investigate from neighbour the whereabout of your daughter if the result is not forthcoming invites your kinsmen into the issue and if that didn't see light of the day then arrest everybody in the house both parent and siblings.

Chizzy7890:
I traveled to Togo against my parents wish in the year 2021 for a greener pasture I left behind my 3 years old daughter with my parents , although the reality I have seen in Togo was not as expected, but I was at least working and sending something home to my parents.

Communication was less because I couldn't afford to calls more often. I returned back home this august the 7th and my daughter was nowhere to be found.

My parents first lied to me that she was with my mum's sister that they will send someone to pick her up but to no avail. So myself I went to my mum sister house and my daughter wasn't there and she doesn't know where she was.

I asked my parents over and over again all I could get is insults from my dad , he is angry whenever i bring the subject and my siblings are not cooperating and they've refusing to tell me the truth.

I am sick and tired of asking and no getting any answers I am trying to be calm to avoid disrespecting my parents but I am loosing patience.

So many things is going throught my head I will have no option but to take things into my own hands and hurt my dad the outcome may be deadly ,

Please no insult how do I handle the situation without disrespecting my parents or do you think I should take the matter to the police ?

Take it to the police.... How about the father of your child? What is his reaction to this negative development?

Hmmm...seems you are irresponsible and simply want to free yourself of the little girl at age 3...you travelled and abandoned her.

However, they owe you accountability. They need to show you the child you abandoned, dead or alive. They owe you that.

I would suggest you calm down, meet the most respected man/woman in your extended family, to come into the situation.

If this doesn't work out as expected, you can get them arrested.

Note: I hope you have concrete evidence that you 'abandoned' your child with them. Otherwise, they can turn the table and have you rot in jail for false accusations.

Calling her irresponsible is UNfair!

I suggest you ask them one more time.
This time around bring in people from the extended family and make sure you record the information without their consent and also hint at involving a law enforcement agency after that day.
Do the needful sis, get your daughter back

Shame on you for leaving your daughter.

Most Nigerian children often experience hell when they aren't living with their parents.

If she abandoned the child, should she not keep quiet about her getting missed? Turning the tables already on someone who wants the best for child. Why didn't they inform her earlier of her child's whereabouts?

I read your reply, you called her irresponsible without even knowing her!

@ Poster; I blame you for bringing your issues here. You will hear wete!

As in that human is a big dummy
Very big one.

Even the advice e give na Garrb…. His parents will accuse their child of false accusation.
Anyways maybe that’s the kind of family he/she’s from.

Don't inform them that you'll involve police, if they've done something

wrong to your child, they may plan evil against you just to cover their wickedness.

calm down and apply wisdom.

Seat your family down and ask them the where about of your daughter

Do that politely

If they can't explain anything

Then you can take a further step to make a report at the police station

That will make them to bring your daughter out wherever she is

But take note, as you are going back, drop that child with anyone you know that can look after that child

Better still take that child to her dad

But that child is best with your parents

Involve the law enforcement officials. You have no right to lay your hands on them. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Firstly, try to know if the child is with her father. If he's not, then something terrible must have happened.

Just involve the police.

Trust Nigerians to leave the message and stone the messenger. From her previous post, I think the family is quite poor and the child might have been sold or sent off to a major city as 'Seregbowo'. This person said she calls and sends money regularly that alone is an act of taking responsibility IMO. NAPTIP or the police might be of help, if you get over that mental roadblock of not using the Nigerian law on family members. I know what's going through you mind as a parent, I hope you find your 5year old.
