I wanted to say same. Some people don't know the different between commission and non commission officer. A junior commissioned officer will be over a senior non commissioned officer. It's good to join the elite cadre.

There was an event I went to cover at this same odogbo barracks, Ibadan a long time ago. It was a party, so, the soldiers were not on uniform. A man asked me if I had taken his picture. (Photographer! You don snap me?) I said I will take it later. He said, no problem, but, make sure you don't forget . I said, yes sir.

It was when they called major general so so so to the high table that it dawned on me that, he was the one representing the GOC at the event!! Olorun Adeboye ooo!!! The fan beside me didn't stop me from sweating profusely. I briefly saw a clear vision of myself doing frog jump to the guard room. I quickly did the needful. 😁 He even took my number so that I would send the pictures to him directly.

Most generals are humble and simple human beings. Just don't take their simplicity for granted.

It's not surprising. It's simply human physiological and biological nature. The older we get, the more dawning the realities of life is.

Look at lecturers for example. The lecturers who misbehave and threaten students up and down are mostly the younger/junior lecturers. As they get older, those exuberance and gra gra reduces. That's why associate profs and profs tend to be more fatherly and approachable.

Same with soldiers. Those that misbehave and do gra gra are usually privates, lance coporals and coporals. Once they enter sergeant, all those thing reduces. They have realised there is more to life than gra gra. They same civilian you're bullying might just be the one to give your retirement some meaning.

Even with commissioned officers, most misbehaving will likely come from a lieutenant or captain. By the tike they pipe major or lieutenant colonel, everything for don reduce.

See where Gen Okoro traced him…see road see building… after how many years suffering and smiling still…. Naija happened to him shaa…

General Okoro is still a minority in the hierarchy and top positions of the military/government although if things were truly based on merit he would be more qualified to be Defense Chief instead of the one Canada and other countries have banned from entrance….LOL

Nothing here will help economy…except this guy that would (and deservingly) collect some thankful naira from the General…
