1. Rudi Garcia is no where the coach Spaletti is. No need arguing, I'll let the stats speak for themselves:

a. They both began their coaching career same year (1994), Spalleti however has a better winning percentage (51.6%) than Garcia (48.38). Spalleti achieved this playing 120 more games.

b. How about honours, Garcia has won just 2 trophies all his managerial career and he got both with Lille during the 2010-2011 season:
Ligue 1 (1)
Coup de France (1)

Spalleti however has these honours to his credit:
Seria A (1)
Copa Italia (2)
Supercoppa Italiana (1)
Russian Premier League (2)
Russian Cup (1)
Russian Super Cup (1)

Seria B promotion (1996)

2. Since 2010, Napoli has mostly declared profit. Of course they are not oil rich like Man City and no one expects them to buy like oil rich clubs, but they are rich enough to make good purchases in the market. The team is lacking defensively and much of what they were able to achieve wasn't primarily due to their attack, but cause they competitors just weren't doing well. They've struggled since the close of last season. Out of 22 games since April, Napoli has lost 4 games and drawn 6 games so there's been significant decline since the later part of last season.

3. Kim Min Jae wasn't unknown. Yes he didn't have the popularity some players had, but he wasn't unknown. I remember Jose Morinho mentioned he wanted to sign him at Tottenham. He was playing with Turkish Giant when Napoli signed him for €19M.
When did Spalletti win that Serie A title huh We are talking about records before they linked up with Napoli not after. Winning the French league and Cup double with Lille is way more impressive than winning anything in Russia.

I didn't say Kim was unknown, I said he was not known as a top defender which is absolutely fax. He definitely was no Koulibailly when he came in to Napoli. U talk about defense but Juan Jesus has been doing well for them and he has shown he is good enough. Plus they signed Nathan from Brazil who has not even played yet.
Speaking of man City, how well did they start last season? Didn't they stumble for the most part? So that let's u know there is more than one way to win a league title.

At the end of the day we have to respect and trust the people who made the signings last season. Back then they were criticized until people saw the light, so I have no reason to believe this season won't turn out the same way.

Even if you remove the Seria A, he still has a more illustrious career than Garcia. Argue all you want but the stats says otherwise. During the period where they both won the league in France and Russia respectively, the French league was ranked 5th in Europe and the Russian league 7th, so the difference wasn't as significant as you want it to be. Don't forget he also won trophies in Italy before the Napoli job which you didn't take into account.

Juan Jesus was playing second fiddle through last season, so he's obviously not Kim. My hope is that Napoli comes through because of Victor really but I sincerely do not see them winning the league this season. AC Milan with a new and improved squad looks more like it.

So if u know Garcia won a tougher league than Spalletti, what is really the issue? When we hired Peseiro did anyone care about the cups he has won in Portugal? A league title is the most important thing and Garcia has a tougher league title than Spalletti.

Being a back up does not mean u are not capable of doing the starters job. Plenty of players have gone from being backups to regular starters. For example on the same team Olivera was more or less a back up last season but now he is the starter. The only problem is that in the modern game the back up is quick to move to another club where he can be a starter.

Chaves about to play and manager Jose Gomes still goes with a 4-4-2 formation with Kelechi Nwakali in midfield.

I hope one of the striker is capable to drop very deep to help out the midfield during build up plays and help in defense, to help the team maintain shape and numbers in midfield.

Alternatively, both forwards can contribute to dropping to form a square offensive shape to help maintain dominance and break midfield walls.

Wish Kelz and his team success.

Official formation is a 4-3-3. So we expect a more balanced midfield performance for Chaves. Kelechi Nwakali plays on the left side CM midfield set up.

No doubt, Boniface is the most complete player. Just watch his second goal from yesterday - the close control and drag to create space for the shot, and the incredible technique he used to strike the ball. I won't even mention the first goal because only a pure striker like Lewa can score such goals in today's game.

Oshimen may lack in dribbling and finesse, but he compensates with his pace, heading ability, and relentless hustle. While his technique is improving, his game still lacks finesse, which is clearly evident when you compare him to players like Haaland, Kane, Lewa, and Boniface in terms of ball control and shooting ability.

In my opinion, it's disrespectful to place Awoniyi ahead of Oshimen at this point. Nevertheless, Awoniyi is making significant progress and is on the rise. He was once known for missing easy chances, but he has worked hard on his game, and you can see his calmness and composure in front of goal. Almost all of Awoniyi's shots find their target.

I watched Nathan yesterday, and I was shocked by how poor his first touch was. Currently, he ranks at the bottom among the players you mentioned!
Nwamazi8:
Based on pure undiluted completeness I'll rate our #9 chart in this particular order:

Victor boniface

Taiwo Awoniyi

Osimhen

Gift Orban

Moffi

Chuba Akpom (I see him as a second striker than a out and out #9)

Akor Adams

The for wingers:

Nathan Tella

Ademola Lookman

Chukwueze

Moses Simon

not trying to judge who’s the better coach but winning the league with Zenith in Russia is not the same as winning with Lille in France

Naturally, they are not suppose to get anything. The club owns the asset (player) and then sells it. The person that actually gets a percentage of the transfer fee is the agent.

Now here is where the twist comes and I first noticed it from Kia Joorabchian, Tevez agent. If the agent wants to keep a high profile talent, he negotiates with the player to share transfer fees.

That was why Tevez made a financial killing in the business. Now we have agents even negotiating high agent fees and sometimes get to keep like 5-8% of the transfer fees with a section going to the player.

However, I have not heard of a direct clause of transfer fee going to the player.
Those agents are damn wealthy.
Thanks for the info.

Chaves picked up later but they are behind in lots of things. Build up through midfield is also non existent and their wingers are poor in their controls. This destabilizes their attack play.

They should have used the loan system to get in some sound wingers.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 4:45pm On Sep 03, 2023
Kelechi Nwakali has not been stellar. Lost some passes, and also got boxed out in critical zones. However, he is having a nice game and you can see why Jose Gomes signed him.

He is dropping deep to pick the ball and using his pases to help build out from the back. He is also going long with his passes but in some occasions, poor control spoilt it.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 4:49pm On Sep 03, 2023
I expect Jose Gomes to advise Kelechi Nwakali to stay deep with the defense, and use his long passes to help pick offensive players.

Then also dash forward but not too close to the 18 yard box to unleash shots from long range.

They need him and the defensive midfielder to stay deep and help break plays and build from back.

Kinda forming a double pivot.
