Since your comparison is based on a fuel and running cost then i'll say the 2014 Corolla, because;
1. It is a smaller lighter car
2. It has a smaller 1.8ltr engine as against Camry's 2.5 or 3.5 ltr engines
3. It has a CVT gearbox which is known to give cars better miles per gallon. I drive a 2014 Corolla and its better than my previous 2012 Corolla which was already a good fuel saver!

But if you are to abuse this car to the point were you may need to change the gear or engine, you are screwed! I love Corollas but the 2012 - 2014 Camry is equally a solid ride especially the SE.

Mind you the Corolla in your picture is not the 2014 model!

Corrolla 2014 vs Cammry 2012
Corrolla 2014 is more expensive expensive compared to Camry 2012
Corrolla 2014 is more fuel efficient compared to Camry 2012 but the money u saved from the fuel u will use it to buy parts , Corrolla parts are becoming more expensive compared to Cammry, infact Corrolla parts are also times 2 of Camry parts so for me I prefer Camry 2012 because it gives luxury

Those two Cars cannot be compared.
It's either buyer is confused or just stupid.

Just seeing the two Cars physically says alot.
Exterior, interior, Cannot be overemphasized too.

Camry 2012-2014 is a better car than Corolla of same year. QED.

However, if you force me to compare, I will say this;
It really depends on the owner.

If youre a short man who doesn't care about luxury and class, that small Corolla is for you.

But if youre a lanky guy like me whos got a taste for elegance and soft life, Camry is it.

In summary, Corolla is lightweight and it is for small boys while Camry is for Men of Honor.


Forget fuel economy, you will regret buying that Corolla.

2014(2Ar fe engine 2.5 l and 2gr fe 3.5l v6) and camry is more classy, luxurious, comfortable,has better performance and more expensive.
2014 corolla(2zr Fe 1.8l) is practical, simple, less expensive, less luxurious, less performance but has better fuel economy than the 2014 camry

My verdict: The 2014 camry beat the 2014 corolla by far in everything except for fuel economy which is not so much in difference (comparing the camry 2.5l 4 cylinder engine with corolla 2.4 l 4 cylinder engine)

I advise you go for 2014 camry(4 cylinder)

Corolla doesn't really save money. Money save on fuel will be spent on corolla maintenance. Some corolla parts cost as much 3 times that of camry. E.g Hub

By the special Grace of God.. I have used 3 corollas- 2006, 2010 and 2016 and also used 3 camry.. 2001, 2003 and 2009

I currently have in my garage 3 corollas and 1 camry

My observations:

1. Corolla is about 30% more fuel efficient than Camry.. This is a lot now at 617/L
2. Camry is more enjoyable than corolla in terms of comfort, smoothness of drive and speed
3. Corolla will do for you what camry will do for you.
4. Maintenance is basically the same.. Just pray to God that your CVT does not have issue.. I spent over 900k to replace a bad CVT gear.
5. Camry is more spacious than corolla.

So the ball is in your court..

For me.. I drive my corolla 90% of times..
