While I agree, won't take issues with Chiamaka's omission. Her club is a primary reason for the snub. She needs a big move.

Her Club what?

Her Club is a Big team in France used to be known as Juvisy and the 3rd Strongest Club in France Played Champions League past season before this one though they left early in the qualifying stage but still able to Finnish 3rd last season, She had a great performance at the World Cup keeping 3 Clean Sheets in 4 games

Where do you want the money to come from ? Who go to stadium to watch women play ? Most clubs lose money funding their female team

These ones are busy dragging each other over a meagre 23k per annum minimum wage, in a top league o.

Yet they expect Plumptre to not go to Saudi Arabia for better bag.

Foolish arrogant Europeans.

You're preaching to a preacher. First my comment doesn't justify her exclusion, I only said I could make sense, however unfair, of her exclusion . The category is for the calender year and even though she's the best goalkeeper stat wise in France and should have been included, her club didn't help. They were knocked out of the qualify stage of the UEFA champions league, Nigeria came 4th at the WAFCON and she didn't win any laurels even a cup title with Paris FC. The only other criteria left is the world cup and even though her 3 clean sheets should suffice, our finishing in the round of 16 didn't help. Let's check the other the last one year.

Sandra Panos Garcia-Villamil & Catalina Coll : won the Liga F, the Champions League, the World Cup

Ann-Katrin Berger : won the WSL, the FA cup, runners up of the UEFA Women's Championship,

Mary Earps : won the Euros and the UEFA–CONMEBOL Finalissima, World cup runners up. Came second in the WSL and participated in the championsh league.

Christiane Endler :won the French League, the Coupe de France Féminine, UEFA champions League quarter finals

Zecira Musovic :won the WSLand FA cup, 3rd place at the World Cup

Mackenzie Elizabeth Arnold: she's the only person on the list who also doesn't have club success like Nnadozie, but again she got to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

My point is based on the above I can make sense of why she probably didn't make it, it doesn't remove the fact that I think she should have been there.

Nigerian Defender Maureen Umeh Joins French Club Nantes.
September 15, 2023

Former Nigeria Youth International Maureen Umeugochukwu has joined French side Nantes Feminine from D2 Clubside US. Saint Malo.

The highly-rated versatile player, who can play from any side of defense and midfield joined the ambitious French side, after a very impressive season with US St. Malo last year.

The 21-year old, also previously played for Adana Idmanyurduspor in the Turkish first division. Umeugochukwu is a dangerous threat in the air and also in attacking set pieces, as her height seem to be a very good advantage.

"I am so excited to join Nantes. A club that has alot of rich history. I am here to put in my best, in every minutes I wear the yellow and green jersey.

"I want to appreciate everyone that helped me grow as a player in US. St. Malo. My teammates, technical crew and all the fans that stood by us, even during difficult moments.

The @UWCL League Path draw in full:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Manchester United vs. PSG 🇫🇷
🇩🇪 Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Sparta Prague 🇨🇿
🇸🇪 BK Häcken vs. FC Twente 🇳🇱
🇪🇸 Real Madrid vs. Vålerenga 🇳🇴
🇩🇪 Wolfsburg vs. Paris FC 🇫🇷

Only four of these teams will enter the group stage.

UEFA needs to revamp it expand. You can't have some of the best women's team not make the group stage of the championship because of the way the path was designed. We already have Arsenal out, now we may potentially have more good teams not make the group stages.

Omilana for meeeeee…..

Oyono isn’t it at all, Her height again is another Disadvantage, cause I don’t fancy Short Goalie. she’s isn’t even up to average like Alaba Jonathan/ Tochukwu Oluehi..

Spain 🇪🇸 call delayed as 39 players sign joint statement stating they are still unavailable due to insufficient changes in the Federation
OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The players of the Absolute National Team, recent world champions, as well as their teammates, wish to express, as they did on August 25, 2023, their enormous discontent after the events that occurred at the medal ceremony at the Women's World Cup and the subsequent extraordinary assembly of the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The events that unfortunately everyone has been able to see are not something specific and go beyond sports. We must have zero tolerance for these acts, for our companion, for ourselves and for all women.

After several weeks after what happened, we want to make public the holding of various meetings with the RFEF in which the staff has expressed clearly and forcefully the changes that we understand are essential to be able to move forward and reach to a structure that does not tolerate or take part in such degrading events.

The players of the Spanish team have at all times had an open attitude to dialogue, seeking to convey clear and reasoned reasons that we understand are necessary to be able to carry out our work at the highest level with the respect we deserve.

The specified changes to the RFEF are based on zero tolerance for those people who, from a position within the RFEF, have had, incited, hidden or applauded attitudes that go against the dignity of women. We firmly believe that strong changes are required in the leadership positions of the RFEF and specifically, in the area of women's football. All of these people understand that they must be far from the system that should protect us and that unfortunately is far from an advanced society.

Due to the above, we break down in detail the changes requested so that this type of attitude does not happen again, and in order to have absolute transparency:

• Restructuring of the women's football organization chart • Restructuring of the presidential cabinet and General Secretariat

Resignation of the president of the RFEF Restructuring of the communication and marketing area

• Restructuring of the integrity department

Today, as we have transmitted to the RFEF, the changes that have occurred are not enough for the players to feel in a safe place, where women are respected, there is a commitment to women's football and where we can give our maximum performance.

We want to end this statement by expressing that the players of the Spanish team are professional players, and what fills us most with pride is wearing the shirt of our team and always leading our country to the highest positions. For this reason, we believe that it is time to fight to show that these situations and practices have no place in our football or in our society, that the current structure needs changes and we do it so that the next generations can have a much more equal football and the height of what we all deserve.

While I see the positives in bringing in new faces to the team, the number of new players added and the timing isn't exactly a smart move. I would have at least wanted the totality of the core of players that started games at the world cup to be present. Yes it's Sao Tome, but playing more games together will help them gel and will help better prepare them for the Olympics qualifiers ahead.

Also, if the goal is to replace old legs in the team with fresh faces, having Onome and Oluehi in the list doesn't exactly reflect that. In all, happy for players like Flourish and Ajakaye and hope to get a chance to show themselves (though against a poor opposition may not count for much)

My assumption is that Onyi and Debbie weren't called up cause of school and the D1 season currently on. The NWSL is also still on hence Kanu's absence. Also doesn't make a lot of sense for the above to make a trip from the US to Nigeria. Ashleigh and Ohale just got new clubs so the reasoning go he to allow them settle in.

This is me just trying to justify their exclusion, nothing official.

This isn't the coach's list. The NFF drew the list. They are still in negotiations with Randy so it remains to be seen if he'll coach the game though he's still under contract till the end of October
