Real reason fuel is up is not the dollar fluctuations.
Price of crude oil/ barrel has really gone up in the international market. So,there's a windfall of revenue to FG.

FG wants the windfall in revenue but don't want the responsibilities attached to it.
Because if raw materials go up, ultimately, the derived products (in this case, petrol) will also be costly.
Notice too that AGO has gone up...

FG is reluctant to use the windfall from crude oil sales to balance up the cost of refined products..
That's the abc of petrol issue in Nigeria.
Bottom line is subsidy is back.

Fx and crude price have gone up over the past few weeks. Since NNPC is currently the only importer of petrol, it can introduce subsidy without making it news

Austria process is quite stressful, I am currently on legalization stage.

It is quite a long journey that will surely be fruitful before the end of next year

- Naira lost depreciated about 10% over the last 1-2 months against major trade currency. It was about 1:1000gbp about 2 months ago, now it is 1:1200gbp. Similar movement for USD

- crude oil price has risen >10% over the last 30 days

- in theory, other companies can import crude. In reality only nnpc is undertaking it at the moment. It can simply use gains from other operations to set-off losses from petrol import

- diesel price has moved from about 850 to 1000 between

So if petrol price locally has remained same, some have connected the dots already

No surprise bro. There was a time I wondered how buhari found the political support to rule Nigeria for 8 years. Then I realised there were millions of people like you to render unconditional support.

At that point I gave up on Nigeria and looked elsewhere for a better future.

No offense intended bro.
